Envelope problems

In my screen i keep up having this full envelopes meaning there are new posts in the threads, so i go into the thread again and nothing's new there!! I change to another forum and it happens exactly the same thing, why is this?? :confused:

I think it counts your post as a new one, so when you look, it says new because its newer than the last one you read which was the one you responded to, so it is new, but you've already read it because you wrote....I think...

Full meaning opened or closed envelopes? If it is an opened envelope, that means there ARE new posts. If it is a closed envelope, that means there are NOT new posts.

Its like this:

Sometimes i am in a thread and write a post there, and right after i return to the forum, i get the full open envelope, but i look at the last person that placed the post and there's my name. This happens from time to time.:)

The envelopes work based on the last time you visited. So if you make a new post and haven't looked at it, there is a new post, even though it's yours. The system is fairly intuitive compared to the last few systems we had, but it's still limited to a fairly basic programming.
