I'm in the Hanover that is between York and Gettysburg. I think there are 2 Hanover's in PA which is stupid! We had a driver at the store that said he when up near Allentown looking for our store:rolleyes:.

Anyway, yesterday I came down with a bad chest cold and could not go up and see my nephew and sister. So, before I left work I picked up a few things for him for my wife to take up with her. One of the things was a Bespin Darth Vader:D :D. I told my sister in a letter that I couldn't be the only crazy one in the family:crazed:. I heard later that everyone had a good laugh when she opened it:D:D:D

State College Target replaced their dedicated Star Wars aisle with barbeque supplies today.

The SW stuff was put on clearance (some of it, at least) and crammed to a few pegs at the end of the regular "boys toys" aisle, and an end cap.

I hope this isn't a bad sign for the availability of the Action Fleet exclusive battle packs, but I fear it is the same Target disaster as we saw with their EP1 action fleet stuff. :rolleyes:

and walmart out on route 8 (name of the place escapes me atm)

the latest 3 3/4" 's I've seen are han, chew, palp and puhr.
ive seen acklay, once (times 4) and got it then, havent seen it since
Might be going out this weekend to try and get the tru exlusives again ( have not seen them as of yet "in the flesh" ). Have not seen the deluxe c3po, nor yoda. but did score a deluxe mace w/ red battle droid.
I did snag the AF ships (only saw 1 of each, grabbed all 3)
have yet to see the x-wing with r2 at TRU yet. but i havent had the money to go hunting every day lol :)
will be a big hunt this weekend (maybe start tonight)

I wont be in PA for much longer, moving to michigan but that wont be for another month, to two months (possibly that long)

2 targets:
Robinson - off of 279 S
Cranberry - off of rt 19

hmm... fairly easy, the robinson one is easier, as you just go passed "robinson town center" and its right there (walmart, TRU and target all together (KB over the hill in the mall).
cranberry is a turn on your way to a walmart heading towards Mars (about 5 minute drive in heavy traffic from the walmart lol)
(walmart, tru, target all together)

It's very conveniant with all stores being SO close once you get out there :)

Will you be in downtown? or in the relative area?
lots of detour, but once you hit 279S just head towards the airport, and you cant miss the exit to robinson town center, once you're there you're golden.
cranberry the same way, big exit signs lead the way, and you cannot miss it.

hey, North_fist here. I was just up the kbtoys in the wyoming valley mall(wilkes-barre), and the toysrus(wilkes-barre). Kbtoys has nothing new, the guy working told me that they are not expecting to get any new shipments till they move.The toysrus has some new stuff, the had a couple of chewbaccas(they are rare around here) and they had a couple of Pilot Obi Wans(also rare)Thats pretty much of new toys around the wilkes-barre area. hope i help a couple of collectors.

Thanks Darth forb1us. We were running late on the way to the reunion, and by the time we left, it was going to take until almost midnight to get back home, so I didn't stop on this trip. But I'll be back, and will check out thise locations.

In Michigan, one of the best places to score SW stuff is Meijer's. It's like a wal mart, but I think it's even better. They're pretty much everywhere in MI.

North_Fist, it's great to find another collector this close to me. I live right across the river from you in Plymouth, so I'm practically right next door.

As far as the stores around here, you should check Wal-Mart and KB Toys again. I was at Wal-Mart on Friday, and they had restocked the shelves with tons of new figures, including nearly 10 Palpatines along with Djas Puhr, Han Endor, Chewie CCC, Kenobi Starfighter, etc. etc.

Also, I was at KB Toys yesterday, and they got in three of the 12" red trim Clonetroopers and three yellow trim Clone Commanders.

I agree Bo Shek. It has been easier on the wallet now that a new wave isn't coming out every week with 5 variations of each figure! The HeMan figures are cool and I have all of them so far. Do you think that you'll get the vehicles and Castle Greyskull?? And remember that SW has all those "GREAT" exclusives coming out..........not to mention the Gunship. Big hits on the wallet there!

Hey, I just wanted to give you all a heasd up, expecially those who freaquent my store:D. WM is going through their fall Madular change. Which means in laymens terms, your not going to find anything anymore . . . . :D. We are changing the layout in the toy dept, well . . . heck, the whole store. We are getting things set for X-Mas so to speak. SO, you SW toys might not be where they use to be soon. They should be moving. In the Hanoiver store, all the basic figs were moved across the aisle near the hot wheel area on the endcap. You'll see what I mean. Some stuff, Deluxe, and Unleashed, were moved to the action figure aisle. and everything else is in the same aisle, but moved down to the other side. But remember, its not going to stay there. It will get a perminent(sp) home shortly:D.

Just a heads up, that's all:D

Darth forb1us, I think you mis-understand. I work for Wal-Mart (WM). The store I work at is in Hanover. When I said that WM Modulars are changing, that was what I was referring to. Sorry about any confusion:D

BUT here's a bit of good new for all those who have a Ames dept store near you.

THEY ARE GOING OUT OF BUISNESS!!

What is good about that you ask?? Well, in 10 weeks they are closing their doors. Which means a "Going Out of Buisness" sale. Right now, the Ames near me is haveing a 30-40% off sale on most items. I haven't gotten a chance to go there myself yet, but the guy who works for me did today and got a butt-load of stuff for cheep! So, if you have a Ames near you, keep an eye out, you might get some great stuff cheep!:D

FYI - I was at my local Ames a couple weeks ago, before the OOB announcement, and they had some very nice die cast airplanes in a couple different scales - I think like 1:48 (about 10" wingspan) and 1:64 (roughly Battle Squads size), or something like that. Some of these hade very nice paint. They ranged from $10 for the smaller size to $15 for the larger size. Their SW assortment wasn't too large, but they had maybe 25 pegs of figures at that time. All were filled.

Dar-Most of the Ames in PA are closing. I was told that all the ones that took over Hills Dept Stores were closing there doors. I was told this by a cold recuiter that was trying to get me to come and work for Ames. I don't think so. I think he was also talking about stock in Enron.....................no sure. If they have a Bantha grab it for me. The Deluxe beast one. Some of them still have them. Crazy man! Good to hear some of ya'll are still out there.

Swaf-How much longer does that Ames have? I will have to check it out. I am going to be back home the last week of August. What are you up to? Want to try to get together? LMK. Send me an email. BTW I am not impressed with the AF stuff. I hope it gets better for you.

Ames is dead for good now. They're closing all 327 of their remaining stores. It's kind of upsetting, I've gotten lots of nice stuff at Ames over the years, it's always been the last place all the other collector's around here check, and so they've usually got a lot of stuff. Oh well, I guess I'll be checking there within the week to see what stuff I can get cheap.

I went up to Pymatuming Lake this weekend (NW PA) and on the way back stopped at the Wal*Mart in Greenville (about 8-10 south of the lake) and found 7 snowspeeders and 5 tie bombers!!!

Whoo hoo what a haul!

I bought two of the bombers and one of the speeders.

I had to make long distance calls to some of my local buds in Pittsburgh to see who wanted them. That's why I ONLY got what I got. Since I was by customer service to make the phone calls I asked the lady at the counter to watch them for me for a moment while I went out to my truck to get the numbers. When I returned she told me that just that morning "some lady came by and returned them all, citing that they didn't want them anymore".


Now all of you KNOW this was a Dam@#^%@ Scalper. And I'm very glad I showed up afterwards. I got the ships in mint condition at cost ($29.96/ea)+tax. I wish the lady would have been there when she returned them and I would have walked in and saw them and bought them AFTER she returned them..... Oooh the look on her face would have been priceless.

Buying 12 SW ships $360
Having them for sale at twice the cost $720
Not being able to sell them and have to bring them back for some REAL collector to buy at cost...... PRICELESS

Anywhoo, I say this to say that when I spoke further with that lady she said that their SW stuff wasn't moving too fast so the remainder would probably be on the shelves for awhile. So if any of you live close or want to take a day trip, they should still be there. I was there on Sat 8/17/02. Good chance some are still there considering what the lady said and the remoteness of that place.

WHoo WHO! Its about time I found some new stuff!

Well today I went to the target in plymouth meeting. (near the mall in a shopping center with a best buy, Dicks, guitar center, and a giant) I picked up a Ki-adi-mundi, teemto pagailles, deluxe Yoda, and a deluxe 3po. Three empty pegs of accesory sets!!! However last weekend I went to a target (not sure of location but same shopping center as a regel movies.) and I picked up the last hoth accesory set! I also went to the Boscovs in the mall today and they had some POTJ figures. X-wing luke, Han Solo, and Gungan Warriors but they are all still $7.99!! Boscovs SAGA stock was all old figures but their were tons of boxes in the toy aisle. So you guys might want to check it out in the next few days.

(Does anybody know if all the accesory sets are out? And if not then which ones are?)

And to anyone who cares both targets I mentioned had Castle Greyskull but the target in plymouth meeting also had the power sword, all the mini figs, and deluxe skeletor! No Mer-Man though!!!

(If anyone finds a mer-man can you please post it.)

Actually they (accessory sets) are all out. I already got 3 arena sets and two each of the others.

Haven't seen the new deluxe sets yet and certainly no Cantina sets.

Has anyone found Ephont MON? I heard he was supposed to be short packed with Teeto/Ki-Adi but saw two boxes of them open right in front of me at Wal*Mart and no Ephant MON.

(By the new deluxe sets do you mean yoda and 3po? Are there more deluxe figs out? Also are any newer basic figs out beyond ki and teemto? Ephant Mon was on the back of those cards so he should be out soon if not already!)

Today at the target in montgomeryville there was a hoth accesory set behind some deluxe jangos, dookus, and obiwans. It should still be there if anyone wants it.

Where are the other 3 accesory sets and the cantina figs!!!!

FYI for all you guys whoi live near me, or can get to Hanover rather easily.

Our Toy Dept has clearanced a bunch of stuff!!! The POTJ figs that we had left are down to $1!!!!!!!! There are only a few different ones though. There are a few Bespin Guards, Sabe, Kewtol(or whatever his name is), and Durros. But there is also lots of other great stuff. I managed to get the Tranformers RID Optimus Prime for $5!!!!! So, if you got some $ to burn, head on down. The clearance aisle is right across from my bike rack:D

Also, if anyone can find a Tranformers RID Ultra Magnus for CHEEP, LMK. Since I got Prime, now I want Magnus:D

Yeah, it was the firetruck. He's really cool, you should open him:D And the clearanced POTJ will happen if the Dept Mgr in your stoor is smart, or if they have the money to clearance it. The reason is just because they are old figs and no longer have a spot for them on the shelves.

Hey rynobot, when did you check the aisles in front of the bick rack??? it was about the 4th or 5th asile down from candy, acrros from HBA, just before the holloween stuff. Bloomsburg has not gotten any new figures in at all! The last newer one I saw was Djas. Never saw Palpy, Chewy, Han, Teemto, Cantina sets, etc. I had to go to Wilkes-Barre to get them!

Yeah same here Boshek, I was lucky though, I saw a couple of the last 5 at a local TRU, and walmart in cranberry was chock full of them (for a short time) I was lucky to get them while they were there.
Lately, all I see is padme arena, c3-po and jarjarbinks... hundreds of them!!!

But, I suppose its good in a way (for me..) I collect other stuff, gi joe, transformers etc, so I've been using the extra money I've had from not getting SW stuff, to get stuff for my other collections :)

Just wanted to post that the new TRU Exclusive Luke and Landspeeder is in the area. It is $19.99 and not too bad of a set. The speeder is really detailed and bigger than the POTF one. I grabbed one BUT wouldn't have if there was something else that was better. It should retail for $12.99 and once you have one in your hands you will see why. BTW TRU will price match ANY local store BUT you are suppost to have an ad. If they really want your buiz then you can get the Customer Service Associate to call the store you are price matching to see if they have it in stock. If they do then they will match the price. It is all up to the Manager. They should be willing to do it. Even if it will be $35.00 off of a $40.00 toy. I hope this helps in the Transformer quest. LOL!

Well, I was feeling better, and then I wasn't. Saturday morning I woke up with THE worse headache of my life. I didn't move from my bed until my wife too me to the hospital at around 5pm. I had not eaten or drank anything the whole time. Turns out it was a sevre Migrain was all I had, but it felt like my head was going to explode. But I am feeling better today.

That would have been funny to see someones reaching Chewie, he he he. I just found the Ponda Cantina set at WM in Cranberry yesterday (9/4/02). Still need the other two.

On another note, if I haven't already mentioned this, I got my 12in Dooku, Zam and Super Battle droid Tuesday (9/3/02).


DOOKU IS AWESOME. Best sculpt ever IMHO.

Super Battle Droid is cool, jurys still out though on the paint job. For some reason Hasbro decided to add copper tints over parts of the droid and it doesn't have right arm atriculation so it can twist his wrist to position his "gun" hand. Still cool though.

Zam was much better than expected. After so many people bashing her I expected a horrid figure. What I got was a nicely accessorized well painted fig. The arms are unable to hold the rifle in a shooting position which bothers me and she has molded purple plastic for arms instead of cloth sleeves. Still this one was much better than anticapated.

Thumbs up to all of them.

Same here! I thought that I was the only one that has "lost" interest in SW stuff. I think that it is the lack of new items along with seeing the "same old stuff" collecting dust on the pegs and shelves. Not to mention the fact that alot of the stuff that is coming out right now, unleashed, TRU Luke and Tauntaun, Landspeeder, etc, have too high a price point to GRAB them up. And don't forget that TOO EXCLUSIVE Imerial Shuttle coming out from FAO. Good luck to everyone on that. I know that I'll never see one except on Ebay for crazy money. Can't wait till EP 3 comes out. The Wal-Mart Supercenter on Route 222 outside Reading had one Republic Gunship left in stock as of last night (I snagged the other one). It's $38.86 and on the bottom shelf at the very end of the Star Wars section.

They also have the Cantina sets as does the Wal-Mart on Route 222 in Trexlertown (heading toward Allentown). That Wal-Mart also had one Acklay in stock (but opened so check it out first), one Padme Unleashed, and two Anakin Unleashed. This is as of Friday night.

Its probably a Store level clearance of old stock. They may have too much SW in stock and need to make room in the bins for the XMAS stuff coming in. I know that we will be carring SW stuff all the way through XMAS. And with the DVD coming out Nov 12th, I expect to see a bunch new stuff around then to cross merchandise with the DVD.

Been in Michigan for almost a week now, moved into the new place on tuesday, its nice, have a room dedicated to figures and such now :D
Still laying out the plan as to where shelving will go, and where carded figures will hang.
So far I've only had the chance to hit 2 stores, (not for the purpose of toys :( but I did hit the sections) One walmart had the cantina sets (minus greedo) and the one Meijer didnt have anything that I hadnt seen yet. One day I will find Ki-Adi and Teemto!!! :frus:

The only good thing about not finding anything is that I cant blow the money on it, when it "should" be used for other things.
I'll have to go back to get the cantina sets though, only had a spare $20 at the time, and I bought a transformer with it haha :p

There's just nothing happening here right now.

The newest 12" figures are at every K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and TRU I've checked(I was only really interested in Dooku, but I may end up getting a Super Battle Droid as well), and the Hagerstown Wal-Mart is flooded with the Cantina sets(easily over 50 of them total, and I'd say they have between 10-20 of each set).

The Hagerstown TRU also has plenty of the X-Wings still, and lots of Landspeeders as well(they had the 12" Luke with Tauntaun, but I think they sold the only one I saw in there). So the exclusives and 12" aren't the problem, it's the general release figures. I haven't seen anything new for months, I wouldn't even have Mundi and Teemto if I hadn't had good timing, since I only saw those once.

The new He-Man figs that are still to be released are Tri-Clops, Ram-Man, Teela, Trap-Jaw, Orko, Whip-Lash.

I think they will make Evil Lynn and Buzz-Off. I would really like to see an Adam, and pre-banishment characters. Like a Trap-Jaw with no mechanical arm or Jaw. Skeletor before the accident, a younger King Randall and Man-At-Arms. I think these new figs kick butt!!!! I was comparing the old He-Man to the new, and it looks sooooooo much better now. Nothing can replace the vintage figs, but the new ones are awesome!!!!

Not alot of things happening in the Balto/Wash area either. I can tell you TRU is working with Hasbro and they will be coming into the stores AGAIN to get the older crap out. Still no word on the Silver R2 promo. Locked lips tighter than Ft. Knox. TRU is promising us that we are going to have the BEST assortment/selection of AOTC figures anywhere. He-man is doing ok but they started the same crap that Hasbro did with EP1 Figures. He-man is coming 5 in a case with 1 Man at arms and Skelator is coming 5 to a case with 1 Beastman. Now the pegs are flooded with no room for the Merman assortment. THAT is why Merman is/was such a hard find, no room and no one buying the crap on the shelves. BTW I do have all the new Heman figures and they rock. I'd still rather have the older ones because that is what I grew up with.

Just wanted to let everyone know some things in the TRU system. All stores should have the #3 Comic book but it isn't coming out till this Sunday or next, I can't remember. Also the 12" Boussh Leia w/Carbonite Han is in the system. Some things are now clearance, Reek at $9.98 and 25th 2pks are the same price. Hasbro is coming back to the stores and taking more of the figures out of the inventory. We are promised to have all the waves for Xmas to include Clone Pilot wave and beyond. We are going to be THE place to get EP2 figures. I will believe it when I see it. On a closing note the Waldon Books in the Chambersburg PA Mall has this cool Ep1 metal tin with 20 prints. It is silver in color with a small Royal Starship in the top right corner. There is a letter from Doug Chang who drew the pictures and then there are 20 picture. It originally retailed for $55 and is now $7.99. I grabbed 2 on Sunday and they still had 12 when I left. VERY cool stuff and well worth the price. They also had 2 12" Anakin/Vader Masterpiece and tons of the 3P0 one. They were $20. Hope this information is useful to all and when I get more I will post it.

Nice find guys!!!! Hanover WM got in the Anakin Jedi Training Lightsaber. I forgot to look at the price. Apparently you use the saber and Yoda, Mace, Obi, or Qui-Gon will talk to you. You can also have a 4 button code so only you can use the saber. Looks pretty cool, has a chrome painted hilt, so it looks a bit realistic:D

Here is what most maryland TRU's now have: All figure waves but still missing Elephant man, Gunships, Areana battle sets, 12" electronic figures, new action fleet and new unleashed. Lots of stuff I thought that I would NEVER see. This is total speculation on my part ( I work for TRU), I am thinking there are going to be some major sales on EP2 stuff right around the time the movie comes out. There seems to be alot pointing to it. BTW Hasbro is coming into the stores and taking all figures from the Bespin Wave and back. So if you are planning on grabbing some Clone troopers, battle droids or super BD's you better go and get them now. If anyone has any questions just PM me.

Here is what I could see the Hasbro rep take back from my TRU:

and others. It was most of the figures from the Bespin Wave and Qui Gon Jinn Wave and back. Hasbro DIDN'T take Darth Vader, Palpatine, Red Clone Troopers, Jango Fett (all three), Padame and others. I don't have a definitive list because the Reps did most of it before I got to work. We "Lost" over 1500 figures but this will make way for new stuff. I would RUSH out and start buying up figures. They are plenty out there, Hasbro has MILLIONS of them in their warehouse and they WILL go Clearance. You'll have a hard time finding common figures but they will go clearance and you'll see them everywhere! You'll just have to be patient.

Here is the information I have gotten out of the computer at work today. I ran across it by accident. It was hidden in with the "Big Book" information. Here is what I have, direct from TRU Corp:
Guests receive the silver anniversary R2D2 figure with a $19.99 purchase of HASBRO star wars product.
1. signage will be delivered with the "Big Book" signage kit.
2. place next to star wars action figures pegs.
3. Guest will go to Customer Service with their receipt and recieve 1 R2D2 silver anniversary figure. Product does not need to be scanned out SKN 632433 $.01 retail.
4. Figures MUST be stored behind the service desk.
5. ONLY ONE FIGURE PER GUEST.
6. once stores are out of figure, remove feature card.
This is what I can also tell you, there seems to be around 7000 pcs per region. This means that each store will get between 50 and 100 pcs. I am not sure if there will be more sent to TRU or if this will be it. Also the way I read it is that you can get only one per purchase. If you want more, you'll have to buy a Hasbro SW toy over $19.99, get your free R2, leave the store and then come back in and do it all over again to get another one. It is going to be fun for sure. Just a few quick items from the TRU guy:
1. TRU will have the Ep2 DVD and VHS for $9.99 next week. Walmart SHOULD price match the ad. I will tell you up front the my TRU doesn't have alot of stock, yet, so it might be hard to get at first.
2. There is a promotion coming up with an in store flyer. It will have coupons for Star Wars items. No word yet on the when and what.
3. I will also post any Black Friday Star Wars stuff as well.
BTW my TRU still has almost 2 case's of the R2's left. Where is everyone at? Do you want me to end up "having" to take them all when the promo is over?:-)

My friend snagged me an Ephant Mon on Black Friday at TRU on sale for only 2.99! I'll be getting him monday morning at work. Saw the 12 inch Dengar, Zuckuss, and Imperial Officer at the Wal Mart in West Manchester. Anybody seen the new MOTU Trap Jaw figure yet?

I have seen plenty of the Elphont man assortment. I would say over 15 cases. He is a VERY cool piece. We have also gotten in the new 12" bounty hunter figures and imp officer. I have also gotten the new Trap Jaw, Tri-Klops, Teela and Orko figures. They are 1 per case each so they will be a hard find for anyone.

On my way up from Pittsburgh to Lewistown for the holiday, my fiancee and I stopped in the Ebensburg WM and I found and bought the 12in Dengar, Zuckuss, and Imp Officer. I am pleased with Zuckuss, Dengar is goo with the exception of the head sculpt. (I may customize wraps for his head) Imp officer is okay, but they (Hasbro) have a picture of Moff Jerjerrod on the packaging when it clearly looks most like the "assistant" to Tarkin on the Death Star. (His name escapes me at the moment.)

From there, we stopped in Alttona where the WM also had the 12in wave as well as the Action Fleet Snowspeeder and AT-AT. I picked the action fleet up there. The TRU in Altoona didn't have Ephnt Mon but pretty much everyother figure you could want. Then we arrived in Lewistwon and before getting to her mom's place stopped in the WM there. To my amazement I found the 10" Vader (Collector's), it's the one that is in the same wave as Anakin, Mace and Jango. I don't know of anyone in the greater Pittsburgh or south western PA region that has found him yet, so dare I say that I am the first lucky one? Anyhoo, he cool, but his head is a little out of proportion. Still nice fig/statue.

That's all for me. I didn't go out Black Friday as I found nearly everything I wanted on that Wednesday. All I need now is the Deluxe Geonosian and I'll be 100% caught up.

First let me say that I really love my fiancee!

While on lunch she stopped by TRU (the one by Aliquippa, I think that's Beaver valley mall?) they didn't have anything new (I'm still looking for deluxe geonosian and PS2 clone wars), but then she went to the Wal*Mart close by and found both sets of the trash compactor.

There were only two of each available. She bought 1 of each, so anyone close enough or lucky enough tp get there first can snag them up. Hope this helps.

Things of disappointment - missing silver r2?? sonofa....

but on the figure side, im only shy clone pilot, a mint teemto, massif & tusken, ephant mon. maybe one more but too lazy to walk to the other room :D
ive seen the tusken though
still havent bought the arena or gunship, see plenty of them around though.
fell behind on the unleashed hehe, seen all released though, I think.
I saw the deluxe geonosian, which is very sweet! (minus the pod... bleh) and the flipping anakin, which made me think about returning the crappy deluxe... rather then getting them all. $10 each for several pieces of garbage is not making me happy ;)
so if I did, i'd return both flipping things, and probably the slice and dice anakin. saving $30 instead of having to complete it and waste how much.. I dunno tho hehe.
On heman, I found Teela and Orko about a week ago, have yet to find a Merman.
Getting Ramman for Xmas, maybe others. Cant wait for Triklops though, he rocks =]

And Forb1us, the Tri-Klop is awesome looking!! The Doom Seeker on a clear stand was a very nice touch. The detail on him is increiduble(sp). I also HIGHLY suggest Trap-Jaw as well . . . . . .very excellent!!:D

I did manage to get a glass shelf into the living room, so I have some loose figures from various lines out there, but that doesnt solve my wallspace problem.
only 2 walls of the 4 are full length of the room, one shares a group of 3 windows and the other a closet + door, Ive got some Mcfarlane stuff around that area, but the rest of the walls share heman, starwars, xmen, transformers, and gi joe :stupid:

In fact, I have a lot of the figures from transformers, and all prior sets of starwars in boxes in the closet. only ep2 is on the wall out of all my SW :(


I'd like to find the stuff here, rather then put anyone in an inconveniance to dig for stuff they dont need, but I just might need some help.
Have not seen Ephant mon, nor the clone pilot. But Im still debating how many pilots I want, havent gotten a gunship, but they are all over, plus when I do get one, how many will I get? lol

Yeah underdog, I saw the Xmas pack and I was not really impressed. I mean, they could have plated C-3Po's hans to match the rest of his body. Instead they just paint it a Gold color!?!?! And R2 just looks really bad IMO.

The ONLY figs at my local Wal Mart are cantina packs for $7 and trash compactor sets. Lots of them. And they are on an end rack no where near the toys.

As far as the local Kay Bee, they haven't gotten anything in months, sans the four figure bundle pack.

Underdog, I haven't been at work all week . . . VACATION:D :D :D. But b/4 I left we had the SW Technics on clearance (R2, Vader, SBD), I think the Slave-1 w/carrying case, not much in the way of figs. The Jango Room Alarm was on clearance. I'm heading into work tomorrow to pick up a few things so I'll look and get you a good list.

Sounds great. Have you been able to hit any Targets for clearance items? I haven't had time myself BUT I did put the word out to one of my regulars that has an buddy at Target. He said that the SW stuff goes down again next Wednesday and that he'd pick me up as may Gunships as he could get. They are going to be $10! I'll let you know how that goes. As far as collecting, I haven't had any time with the Holiday Season at work. Too busy and we had inventory in early January so after Xmas, returns came inventory. It is going to be nice to get back to 40 hour work weeks:) The last thing that I bought was the Areana playset in late November. I have been buying more 12" GI Joe and Ultimate Soldier stuff.

I was momentarily consumed by the dark side... and it felt gooood. Seroiusly, I hope these new figs arn't going to be trickling out like Ephant Mon did. It's been a frustrating dry spell and many of the upcoming pieces (Boba carkoon, Dooku, Obi Spear) I will be passing on. I guess I'm done being a completist.

I picked up both Obi-Wan and Dooku about two weeks ago at the Wal*Mart in Robinson. I'm told by the worker there that the figures were in. (He's a collector as well) but that they only had two boxes come in and AFTER he took what he wanted he put the rest out and they went pretty fast. I must have come just shortly after he opened the box. Except for the two figures I picked up, the other Obi's and Dooku's cards were bent or warped.

I am so looking forward to the Jedi Research Droids.

Oh well, soon enough we'll get them and be broke for a couple of months.

Not alot of posting going on as of late. I hope everyone is doing well. Not alot of action here in the Baltimore/Washington area. There is a Kmart close by that is closing. I am hoping to grab a few things if they are left when the $ is good. I had to rent a storage unit to put my stuff in today for fear of my basement flooding out after this snow melts. My landlord is an A**hole and the basement leaks like crazy. I don't want to loose any of my stuff because of it. I have a few store displays that have gotten alittle bit of water damage and I was ****** about it. I had just gotten the Ep2 DVD Yoda display and the bottom got wet. The water damage goes about 2" up the display. If anyone out there has any store displays you can relate when I say that IF you are able to get any that they are pretty much one of a kind and not replaceable at all!?!?!?! BTW when are we suppost to all meet? Hey Dar, when do you forsee this adventure taking place? Just putting it out there.

I finally found the new wave this last week. I already had Obi, Tusken and Dooku about three weeks ago, but picked up the new Padme, Imp Officer resculpt, Rebel Fleet Trooper resculpt and the Research Droids. Now I'm just looking for the newest of the new, like Lama Su. (Okay no rhyming intended)

I am still looking for the newest of the Action Fleet stuff. There have been reports that it's been in PA but I haven't seen them yet. And I go all over SouthWestern PA.

BTW, today at my store, they clearanced the Saga Tie Bomber to $5, the Jedi Training Elec. Anakin Saber to $5, and the 12" Zuccass, Imperial Officer, Zam, and Dengar to $3. This is only at the Hanover WM, not a company wide thing. I managed to pick up one of the Tie Bombers. There was 5 more left when I left work today, so if you can get down there, its in the first aisle across from the bick rack, towards the HBA dept.:D

Nope dude, no one smashed them. The case was demolished. Know how I know???? Cause I saw the person put them out. of course she didn't save the case for me to get the case number off of:rolleyes:. Buyers, Retail Stores, aren't buying large qty's of figures anymore. The craze is past and only the collectors and hard core fans are even looking at them or for them. When was the last new figure you saw at TRU? It was last November when Ephant Mon came out for the Black Friday ad! It is a dark time for us collectors. I've been working on other additions to my other collections so at least I have something to look for.

Gettysburg Walmart had remnants of the Han Hoth wave this morning (1 Chewie/Mynock is all I saw) but I hit the jackpot in Hanover. Picked up library droids, Lama Su, Barriss, Yoda & Chien, Ashla & Jempa, red battle droid, blue Twilek (can't spell her name). After not seeing anything new, I'm still in fan-boy, collector-geek shock!

Things have been really slow around here lately. I finally found something new today, the Library Droids(they are the only 2003 figure I've seen in stores besides a couple of the new Tusken Raiders, and a single Rebel Trooper awhile back). The bubble was smashed(I doubt anyone did it on purpose, there doesn't seem to be much of that around here, but you never know), but since I open just about all my figures anyway, I still bought it.

So did you get the smashed bubble ones or did you leave them behind for me:mad: :p :D he he he.

I saw some of them, but the bubbles were all smashed so I passed. Plus I cannot remember which ones I have on layaway right now.

Bit of sad new now. As of today, May 6, 2003 I am no longer a Wal-Mart employee:(. Well, that should actuall be a :D not a :(. Anywho, i got a better job with less stress and no Black Fridays:D. So unfortunatly I have no more insider info, unless my wife can get it for me. I will be checking the store fequently however, but as far as clearance news and what not, I'm out of the loop now. Oh well, I'm also a lot happier:D :D :D.

Hey, Dar', congrats on the new job! We'll miss the insider info, but it's really great that your moving on to a better work environment.

Most of the bubbles were kruddy, but to be perfectly honest, I went for best paint job rather than card condition since I open. Unfortunately, it looks like the Hasbro well-spring has dried up again, wiht stores putting out more old stuff. AArrgh!

I don't blame you one bit. I'd like to have a job with less stress but I put up with it because I like the environment I work in and the job itself. It kind of balances out in a way for me. I'll still be giving that "inside" info when I get anything. The horizon doesn't look good for SW at TRU. Lots of OLD crap still hanging on.

Hard to see the future is................I haven't looked in the computer for any new Star Wars stuff in months! It has been so dry and nothing coming in since the 12" Padame wave. No new figures since before Xmas:-( I will TRY to look and see if I can find something out on the computers. They just changed the search screens and work and they still aren't full functional so it might take a few days/weeks until I can look them up. On second thought, I will get the numbers off of the website and check that way. I should be able to post something in the next day or two to let ya'll know if the west coast has them. Later.

The stress was not really the problem . . . except around X-Mas. It was the crap I got there. I was practically expected to keep the 4 walls of that store up AND get my bike rack filled every day. They kept expecting more and more everyday. I just really got tired of it. I mean, I LOVED my job, I just could not stand where I worked anymore.

Oh, BTW underdog, I got that package the other day. Thanx a bunch!!!

Who would have thought that Wal-Mart was like that:-) Doesn't all retail use and abuse it's people? I think so and it sucks really bad.
I also checked on the Bounty Hunter 4pk and troop builder 4pk that is coming out at TRU later this month. There is NOTHING in the USA as of Saturday night. Nothing on the west coast and nothing pending there either. Also saw a Saga pack coming soon but nothing here yet. Anyone know what that is? Is that the new cinema scenes?

Hasn't been new much here in the 'Burgh. I have most of the newest of waves. I still need Han Hoth and Chewie. I saw the Han at Action Figure Cantina on RT 19 in Wexford (north of Pittsburgh) but it was at a hobby store and I wasn't paying $15 for him. Was I wrong to pass him up? I'm an opener and I prefer good paint jobs as opposed to the condition of the card. This particular Han hade a brown paint mark on his forehead. It looked like a mole. Well anyway, I didn't get him because of that mark and the price. I've heard tell that the Spider droids are showing up in central PA and that the Super Battle Droid making set is there as well. I accidentally deleted the e-mail so I don't know exactly where in Central PA, but I did get this info from a reputable collecting club that I belong to.


Here's one theory on why we haven't seen new stuff yet, and agina its only a theory. While Hasbro recognizes that collectors make up a huge chumk of it's profits for Star Wars they would like to see kids get the chance to get these toys as well, so they and maybe along with retailers are waiting til Early June when the kids are out for summer to release the new toys. This make some sense as kids don't have the luxury or getting up early and going shopping like some collectors do to get the toys when they are first put out on shelves.
With the kids out of school, they can travel with they're parents to stores more often and thereby have a greater opportunity to find the toys they want as well. Maybe hasbro is just trying to keep this a kids line at every cost. Again this is only a theory but does at least bare some consideration.

It would be very stupid and unbusinees like in the case of profits but maybe Hasbro is trying to do the "honorable" thing here and make toys be for kids instead of us collectors.

Okay, I'm done now. What do you all think?

Hasbro isn't doing anything honorable for anyone. They are as cut throat as the badest bounty hunter in the galaxy! The problem stems from the fact that TRU and Walmart are sitting on too much of the older assortments are aren't moving them. TRU and Walmarts buyers aren't going to buy new figures because they aren't moving what they have. So only Target and some Walmarts get small shipments of the new assortments. When was the last time you went into TRU and saw a new figure? Last Thanksgiving when you could get the 25th R2 and Elephont Mon! To be honest from what I can see at TRU the situation isn't going to get any better. I am so frustrated in trying to find anything. Don't pay the $15 for the new Han because in a few months you'll find him all over the place. It is just the wait. Isn't everyone getting frustrated in trying to find the new stuff? It sucks.

The current condition and climate of the Star Wars collecting world is nearly non-exhistent and dismal at best. Just look at these boards for instance. They used to thrive with activity when stuff was out. You'd never go a day without checking in for fear that you'd have to muddle through pages upon pages of posts. While it is much easier to keep up with now, I'd prefer it to be mayhem here. Because if that were the case, that would mean there would be a ton of new stuff out to talk about. The business practices of the manufacturer and retailers appalling! Didn't they learn a lesson from Episode 1 sales? At least during non-movie years they could cater some to the collector. Even then kids would continue to buy new product as well. Heck, I'd be happy if the pegs were near empty as long as new product was coming in on a regular basis and people were buying the stuff. It's a balancing game that neither the manufacturer nor the retailers have learned from past experiences. I hate to see what's going to become of the line after Episode III. I can see it dying after one year past EPIII's release. Even though Hasbro signed a 15 year contract recently, who's too say they are going to honor that.

On some lighter and happier news, I found both AT-ST Driver and Han Solo yesterday here in Pittsburgh. Don't know if they've been out awhile but I picked up the AT-ST driver. The Han I left there. UGLY Headsculpt. The AT-ST driver isn't much better but his mug will be covered by the goggles and helmet.

Also, I thought that the 12 inch Lando was in this case assortment. Was I wrong? Has anyone else seen these? Purchased them? Lando Specifically?

What do you all think about them?

Did anyone make it to Wizard World East?

I did. As far as Star Wars, I only bought Max Rebo and Doda two pack for $10. I collect A LOT of other action figure lines.

Lots of old and new figures, Ephant Mon, Motti and Bibble were all going for $20-$30; Star Tours were about $10; and the new figures were plentiful but not priced at most stands and I hated to ask but I figure around $10 each. But all in all it was great for Star Wars collectors, especially with the autograph singing of Star Wars stars. Too bad it they were $20 for each one!

It was at the Philly Convention Center in the heart of the city. $20 to get in, it was on for three days. Lots of comic book artists there and lots of comics and action figures for sale.

Once a year I think, it was the first time I ever went. I am going next year no matter what. In fact, next year, everyone should go. Well worth it!!!
