Most recently, I've saw a bunch of Saga R2s pegwarming at the KB Toyworks in Bowie. If you don't want to go to Bowie, I usually tend to see more R2 at KB toys or Targets than Walmart or KMart.

Found the new Deluxe(Gensionan, Clone Trooper, Flippin Anakin) at K-Mart in Eldersberg. I bought the last of them except Anakin. I Also found the new Action Fleet at Walmart Eldersberg. They had the Arena Playset and Gunship but the boxes were bad.

Sunday the Columbia Toys R Us had 1 Gunship...and 2 @ 12" electronic battling Obi & Jango. Target in Columbia only had 1 action fleet solar sailer. Happy hunting!!

Here is the information I have gotten out of the computer at work today. I ran across it by accident. It was hidden in with the "Big Book" information. Here is what I have, direct from TRU Corp:
Guests receive the silver anniversary R2D2 figure with a $19.99 purchase of HASBRO star wars product.
1. signage will be delivered with the "Big Book" signage kit.
2. place next to star wars action figures pegs.
3. Guest will go to Customer Service with their receipt and recieve 1 R2D2 silver anniversary figure. Product does not need to be scanned out SKN 632433 $.01 retail.
4. Figures MUST be stored behind the service desk.
5. ONLY ONE FIGURE PER GUEST.
6. once stores are out of figure, remove feature card.
This is what I can also tell you, there seems to be around 7000 pcs per region. This means that each store will get between 50 and 100 pcs. I am not sure if there will be more sent to TRU or if this will be it. Also the way I read it is that you can get only one per purchase. If you want more, you'll have to buy a Hasbro SW toy over $19.99, get your free R2, leave the store and then come back in and do it all over again to get another one. It is going to be fun for sure. Also, no stores in the USA have the figure. They are all sitting in the regional warehouse's. I hope this helps and makes it to the message boards.

Sparky, my limited understanding is that this R2 freebie is mentioned in the Toys R Us "big book" & only upper echelon store mgrs, etc. have seen it. Most employees, including cust. service reps, have no clue what I'm talking about! Supposedly...the "big book" is revealed to the public this Sunday. That is as far as I can tell when we can start getting the Silver R2's...and thats only if they got them in from distribution to give out to us. I'm still getting conflicting stories on how much we have to spend to acquire one. Good luck!!!

A.J...thanks for tip on new deluxe Clone Trooper & Geonosian...I'm striking out at Targets. For those looking for new 3 3/4" waves...I think right now Toys R Us is your best bet...saw more at Annapolis Kay Bee, but the Clone Trooper pilot seems to be the 1st to go. Watto & Lott are short shipped. I've yet to see clean shaven Endor rebel. Happy hunting!

Toys r us Frederick had the clean shaven Rebel soldier last night. I still haven't seen an Ephant Mon yet (Is he out yet?) I also got a padme pilot with a brown paint splotch right where the mole was on the other version. It's obviously just a speck from painting her hair but it's kinda cool.

Ephant Mon is out on the West Coast. I don't think it has made its way here yet. Many people are saying that this is the one of the best figures ever.

November is turning into an expensive month: ATOC DVD, Ephant Mon, Clean Endor Soldier, TRU Landspeeder (so I can get the Silver R2), and I think the Cantina Sets Wave 2 is coming out as well. I think I'll put off buying the Lord of the Rings extended version.

Yeah,my local Toys R Us mgr/star wars guy showed me a copy of the "big book". Even though some people got it in the mail already..Sun. is the magic date. He said they were only expecting about 100 R2's...and they hadn't even arrived yet. He mentioned there will be a listing on the receipt, which you have to take to cust. service. If scalpers try to return the figs, they have to return the R2's as well. Does everyone think that's fair...I sure do! Still looking for deluxe clone trooper & geonosian???!!!

I went up to the Laurel TRU today. I got my Landspeeder and Silver R2. I think the new cases must include Yoda, Dooku, HD Anakin, and Bespin Vader, because I saw them at both TRU and Wal-mart.

Laurel TRU also had Anakin, Padme, and Darth Vader Unleashed. They also had some 12" figures.

Laurel Target 2 Emperor's Guard. I almost bought them as army builders, but passed since I already have 2. They had Kit Fisto, C-3PO, that blue senator, Taun We, Kit Fisto, Padme, and a couple other Jedi.

I was at SUNCOAST Video Co. in the Owings Mills Mall yesterday and they had alot of AOTC stuff on clearance. Most notable was the 12" Deluxe Jango Fett for 50% off! It is now $20. There were 3 left. I already have one so if you need one cheap, now is the time to drive on up/down/left or right and get it!

Got mine there too with a couple of the new Action Fleet ships. I thought the guy might give me a hard time since it was technically $19.98 of Hasbro Star Wars products, but they were so busy he didn't even look at the receipt.

I bought 4 figures and it was "technically" $19.96. They didn't even charge me the $0.01 for the R2. They said you actually have to pick up the R2 and then make the purchase. But the employee was nice enough to let it go.

Right there with you Fixer on the new deluxe figures...they seem to vanish faster than any figs. in recent memory. I've never had so much trouble with a new release. I've seen Anakin...but not the other two. I've also seen Ask Yoda popping up at Toys R Us & Walmarts...the Geo. Arena playset seems to be easier to find..and cheaper!

Next year is looking expensive. I saw about 30 figures, sets, and vehicles I wanted to buy on the list.

That was me! It may still be worth going to TRU on black Friday, 'cause the big sales push may shake some elusive figures out of the tree.

I'll agree with you about next year - I'm a completionist, so it looks to be about as bad, if not worse, $-wise than this year. At least it looks like some nifty new items, as the line transitions back to a non-movie year collector focus. (Though the Clone War animated shorts may throw a wrench into that idea.)

I'm still looking for the deluxe Clone/speeder bike. Otherwise, I think I'm actually caught up.

I'll check Toys R Us's near Glen Burnie for Ephant. At least he's showing up in Maryland. He's all I'm missing, too. I've been ordering Star Tours fig. from their 407 # in Florida. Pretty nice people to deal with, but once your order's processed...forget any kind of reliable ship or arrival date. But they've always showed up in very good to mint condition. Can't order the last three yet, though...too early!

Pot Mills TRU didn't have anything special either. Did see one AT-ST there if anyone is interested.

* Also got the Xmas two-pack. The only question I have is why did this have to be the very first C-3PO/R2 two-pack? I like it in a twisted kind of way.

* Finally, went to Target for an extra suitcase (believe me, I needed it) and found the Deluxe Clonetrooper hidden behind the lightsabers!!! Cool. Just need the deluxe Geonosian.

I got all six at 'Once Upon a Toy Store' located in the Disney Marketplace. They have a ton of them, but finding decent cards that haven't been picked over a gazillion times by 'big' and little kids alike is the real challenge.

Over at MGM, they had five of the six figures - they did not have R3-D3. The person behind the register said he hasn't seen R3-D3 in ages. I guess he doesn't go to the Marketplace too, too often.

Word down there is that the latest wave of three figs will be arriving early January. Wish I could get ahold of these. I guess I'll have to wait until next year's trip. . .hope they'll still have them.

Also, there is a 1.800 or 1.407??? number to order from the Disney catalogue. Wish I knew the number. . .but then again, I would much prefer to hand pick the Star Tours figs myself because of the varying crappy conditions of the cardbacks.

Toys R us price matched the KB online sale price for the interactive R2 unit for me. The manager said he was in a good mood but ordinarally doesn't match online prices. If you want one and want to save $20 ($30 if you take out shipping from KB) then give it a try. The worst they can say is no. I can't wait till Christmas so I can open it.

I picked up the trash comp. 2 packs last week here in Frederick. You would never know they had them if you went back now though. They didn't last long enough for them to even put a price sticker on the shelf. Your Wal-marts may have done the same thing. They will get more of them eventually.

The new Wal-mart in Frederick just put out several cases of the figures that were sent back earlier this year. I really don't know why they expect them to sell better now. I really wonder if the people responsible for alotting new toys to the stores know anything about their jobs. They get new figures about 1-2 months after Toys R us, they clog the shelves with peg warmers, and with the exception of the Cantina scenes they don't stock exclusives well. I fully expect them to have an Aisle full of Ephant mons sometime around June 2004. Oh well, they're still (slightly) better than Target.

Haven't forgotten about you. I am in Rhode Island as I type. We will be driving back tomorrow. I have been out of the area since Dec. 26. We drove to R.I. Then I flew to Cincinatti. I then hopped in a car with a friend and drove to Miami, FL (for New Years). Drove back to Ohio; flew back to R.I. Which brings me full circle to our leaving tomorrow.

The TRU up here had a gazillion Destroyer Droids!!! No word of a lie. . .had to be over fifty to sixty of these guys on the pegs and in the bins. BUT. . .I only found ONE Yoda JC. Also found three Ephant Mons at KB Toys. Found the Deluxe 'Flipping' Anakin and Geonosian Warrior, but I did not have the cash to get either. Perhaps you were able to pick one of these up for me in the meantime.

Since I am returning. . .name the time and place to meet. Don't think I have any plans this weekend. The holidays are long and gone. No obligations. Ahhhhh. . .life is a breeze now!

Wal-mart in Frederick on 26 has 1 of each death star scene left (as of saturday morning 11:00am) and 4 tie bombers. The new paint scheme on the bomber is nice, but the helmets on many of the pilots looked a little "battle damaged" from too much paint. Still no ephant mons anywhere I checked WM, TRU, and KB.

On Sat, I went to Potomac Mills Mall. The KB outlet(near Old Navy) had all 3 25th anniversary 2 packs for $4.99 each.

I think you're right, jon. KB/KB Toyworks will probably get them first. KB and TRU are the only stores left with a decent sized Star Wars section. Target and Walmart have done some serious downsizing. I won't even mention KMart.

Well, it won't be the KB at Tyson's - went by there yesterday and they're closed for good. Did find that the local Giant supermarket has opened up a big toy section in their seasonal aisle - including the last POTJ wave (FX-7, Eeth, Imp/Reb Troopers) and the Saga pilot wave. They had other action figure lines, Lego, etc. Don't know if it's temporary or not, but it sure was surprising.

The Ellicott City Walmart (off 29 & 40) had one Saga Bomber and had recently put out a case of Destroyer Droid/Yoad Chair wave. Saw those on Tuesday at 11:00 am.

Frederick Wal-Mart (Off I-70)

I snagged the last pair of Trash Compactor sets. I've told my self "No, No, No! They aren't that nice!" But once I saw them in person they are pretty cool. They had nothing else of interest. They had the Cantina Sets for $7.xx which is cheaper than other Wal-Mart's I've seen.

Thanks Rogue II. I got my Dengar, Imperial Officer & Zuckuss @ 1/2 price! They had Dooku, Dengar, Zam, & Super Battledroid as of 5:00 yesterday. They are hidden in with the clearance junk. They had the Jango Fett Lego set on clearance as well. I think 1/2 price.

i was reading the upcomming list of stuff, and there is a lot of wal-mart exclusives, this sucks because how hard it was to find the trash compactors , saga bomber and holiday sets.

I haven't had much luck with Walmart either. I did manage to get all 3 Cantina Sets without much of a problem, but I never saw any of the others. Hopefully, I will find the Trash Compactor sets soon. Anyone hear exactly when the 2nd wave of Cantina sets are supposed to be out? I thought I heard sometime in February.

There have been 4 Saga tie bombers on the shelf of the Wal-mart on 26 in Frederick for the last 2 weeks. They get trash compactor sets sporadically. They're even getting new figures (no Ephants yet though.)

Scored Obi-Wan Kenobi - Acklay Battle & Darth Tyranus - Geonosian Escape at the Hagerstown Wal-Mart. They had 2 Obi-Wan figures left last night around 8:30ish.

Had to get out of the house this morning since I couldn't bring myself to watch CNN anymore. It seems inconsequential in light of the Columbia disaster, but I found the Jedi analysis droids, padme, imperial officer, rebel fleet trooper, and tuskenraider at the wal-mart on 26. They also had Teebo and Eeth Koth, but I'll pass on them for now. My thoughts and prayers are with the real space heroes. Rest in peace.

Frederick seems to be the best place to find new stuff, at least for myself & mtriv73.

I stopped by the Frederick TRU last night on the way home from work after failed attempts at many Wal-Marts, Targets, TRU on the way up from Annapolis. To my surprise they had the new 12" line in stock.

I was really excited 'cause I just started collecting the 12" line. I gotta be honest, the new Padme & Anakin absolutely suck. If you want a good laugh, take a look at these pathetic figures in person. Anakin looks like a professional wrestler with a bad tan job on his face while his body has a lighter color :confused: . And Padme, very sad. Basically just a Barbie with dark hair, big nose and a terrible attempt at the hair style from the Arena scene.

For the good news: I picked up the Geonosian Warrior which is, in the words of my 3 year old son "way cool bad guy, daddy". I haven't had a chance to open him yet. But just from looking at it at the store, this one is a real winner. They had 1 Anakin, 2 Padme's, 1 Geonosian left last night around 6:00.

Bottom line: Stay away from the new Anakin & Padme 12" line unless you need a good laugh. Pick up the Geonosian even if you aren't a normal 12" collector. It is indeed, "Way Cool"!

Thanks for the review mm! I used to collect the 12 inch line but only pick up the occasional few now. Too many bad apples.

I was lucky enough to pick up the 3 3/4 Padme (droid factory), Imp. Officer (new head), Tusken (magnet head) and red head RFT Saturday up north in Hanover, PA. Surprised they haven't shown up in MD stores yet. Gotta be coming any time now...
