Hey folks, I had a quick question I was hoping someone with their expanse of great knowlege could answer.

The Republic Gunship that was shown off at toy fair looks pretty great, but it doesn't contain a lot of the detail and weathering that the other ships have. And it does look almost like a prototype. The release date is set for the fall, so I would assume it could still be in the development stages.

So, does anyone know for sure if this is the prototype version or the final?

If you look at some of the photo's from official sources of this ship, like some of the art work, it appears to have two more bubbles (which I think are gunner bubbles, or something) that are stationed on the sides between the thin door and the larger opening. So hopefully this is a prototype and they might be adding more details such as the bubbles and weathering.

Regardless I think it looks like a mighty fun toy, both for collectors and kids. I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, most likely they're gonna be majorly working on it between now and Fall, if you want to see a more "final" version, the LEGO version has the side bubbles which are actually fold-out gunner stations. Can't wait to see the final version of this. :D

A LOT of stuff was prototypes, including the Gunship. Hasbro told me items may change before the toys are out as Lucas keeps changes things with the movie.

Hopefully they actually make the changes before the product ships, unlike the crappy Hex and Rex in the E1 Jabba the Hutt Beast. :frus:
