Save the whales! Gosh this was a fun movie. I enjoy this one every time I watch it. I think it was the highest grossing TOS movie made. General (non-Trek fan) audiences flocked to it as well as fanboys.
It's humor is almost a laugh a minute, but its adventure is great as well.
I think for the movies, the characters really re-established their roots in this movie with their one-liners and everyone had fun things to do.
I love Star Trek IV!
