I was just looking at the pre order list for AOTC's and i saw Qui-Gon Jinn in it, and i'm just wondering why is he in there? i mean hes not in the film.

Is he in the film at all ?

I read a spoiler a while back that claimed Qui-Gon would either be a Hologram or Clone.

He could be a clone, the more likely though he will be a hologram. The same way that Obi-Wan mentored Luke after he died, Qui-Gon will speak to Obi-Wan or Anakin. That is my guess anyway. Who knows if he is even in the film? Just a guess.

Well, that could be an Episode 1 figure also. On the lists that I saw, there were a number of Episode 1 figures listed, as well as ANH, ESB, and ROTJ figures mixed in. Remember, this year all the lines merge into one line. So it's quite possible that it's an E1 figure.

If it is an E2 Qui-Gon, he does appear in the film from what I've heard. Qui-Gon is in the movie in a holo-recording of him and Dooku together before Dooku left the Jedi. I'm not sure the nature of the recording, but rumors suggest that Dooku was Qui's master, and thats where he picked up his defiant nature. After Qui's death, Dooku had nothing left keeping him with the Jedi, so left.

That is very interesting, Jar Jar. I knew that Qui's name would be mentioned in the movie, but I didnt know there would be a holo of him. If this is true, we already have this figure (the hologram figure that lit up on the base).
Maybe hasbro is trying to sneak Qui back in so they can earn some more money.

Dooku definately has the presence of a Master, and it will be great seeing Qui-Gon again, he made TPM fun to watch in the first place. :)

I wouldn't mind seeing him in spirit form. Then it could be a spirit figure.

probably just be all the hologram ones that got returned to Hasbro after they bombed in the episode one line They just rip 'em open and recard them for episode two. That's what they used to do with the vintage figures so i can't see why it wouldn't happen now. Although I do concede that it'll possibly be a new version that looks even less like Liam Neeson than all the other non Liam neeson looking figures.......:crazed:

If it is going to be a hologram figure, I hope it isn't the kind with the light up base attached to it. I am not really into special gimmicks like that. Just give me an action figure to play with, nothing else. I don't need Commtechs or any light-up features to enjoy my toys unlike todays kids.

Yeah, I think we need a spirit figure of Qui-Gon.

Just my silly observation.... If the actor Liam Neeson did not participate in the filming of E2 in any way, then how is the character he portrays (Qui Gon) going to be in the E2 film?

If you remember, when they did the pick up shots at Elstree studios in London liam was seen mooching around at the studio entrance. One can assume that he did a few shots for the hologram scene which will no doubt be the same low grade stuff we saw with the leia holograph in ANH. it's likey to be a small holographic film of Qui-Gon with Dooku and if Liam never did any filming at all they could simply CGI him into the scene using episode one out takes or re-using episode one footage. they could simply use another actor and CGI Liams head onto the body. Anything is possible in Georges sparkly new CGI movie making world. Why, he even has a laugh and uses CGI actors on real sets instead of the other way round HAHAHaha ha ha... h...
