Anyone else getting this set? Around 16 "Cars" total..

I have 6 of the 16 so far... they are impossible to find!

Went to Geoffrey, 3x Wal-Mart, & my dad went to 3x Wal-Mart & they are sold out everywhere!

I was only going to get the cars for my daughter since shes a Disney nut, but I may have to get the playsets too now that I see how cool they are. Just found out too that you can hook em all together... thats pretty neat in itself...

yes, i've been sucked into trying to complete a set as well. i've even bought the V8 Cafe playset and the Curio Shop. i'll probably get the others if they ever go to clearance.

i'm missing Sarge (ha, isn't everyone missing him?), Fillmore, Chick, Dinoco McQueen, Nitroade and Leakless.

BP, i can't promise anything but if you don't mind paying cost + shipping i'll try to help you out though it seems like they are scarce everywhere.

I hit the mother load last night when I went to my local Wal-Mart... must of got it right when they were restocking. There was also an elderly lady there shuffling through the stuff cramming into her buggy... she told her grandson that he could have some of em but she was selling the rest.... stupid scalpers....

Here is what I got... put em on layaway against my better judgement, hope they are still there when I get em out & also hope they are in the same condition I put em on there as. They better not "lose" my layaway!!!

Dinoco McQueen (had about four of em - not greedy, only got one)
Nitroade (only one on the shelf)
Leakless (had about four of em - not greedy, only got one)
King (had about four of em - not greedy, only got one)
Fillmore (only one on the shelf)
DJ (had about three of em - not greedy, only got one)
Sally (had two, one was bent all to heck, so I got the other one)

Stanley & Red (only two so I got one)
Flo & Ramone (had about 10 or so, only got one)
Guido, Luigi, & Tractor (only one on the shelf)


The others they had were around 20 Regular McQueens, a few Rollin Bowlin games with the Blue Mater (only other place to get this one is in a 6 pack) & one Ramone House Of Body Art. These things are literally hard to find everywhere... can't believe they are selling so well!

I have a secret place that is a good place to find em though - I have bought three Cars from Advance Auto Parts!!!! They had a Chick Hicks error at my local one (says Lightning McQueen on the card inside!!!) Went to the next town over & got a Chick Hicks that has the right card.... little bent up so using it as a place holder. Same store I got a Wingo

When I went to the Wal-Mart about 45 minutes from here July 4, the only things on the shelf were Mater & Green Ramone. Picked those up too!!!

Only things I am missing for my set are Lizzie & Sarge (but who isn't!)

Still trying to decide if I want to get the playsets or not.... I don't really play with em, but for complete set sakes I may have to..... Only one I have seen is the House Of Body Art.

Also trying to decide if I want to get the Mack Truck set....

The one I am actively looking for is Sheriff. I have one but it looks like someone ran over it with a truck, the card is all beat up. Again using it as a place holder until I can find one with a better card.

May be kind of fun to get a set to open & one to keep sealed, but as hard as they are to find, don't know if I am gonna do that yet.

If you need a Cars carrying case I may can pick you up one. At a local thrift store here in town I got one for $1.50, brand new sealed perfect condition!!! They had another one only, but it was missing the tabs that keep the top shut. Mattel may could send those though.... let me know & I'll see what I can do!

i don't know if we have advance auto parts here in southern cali so i checked my local auto zone and kragen. zilch on both. zilch on the 7 stores i hit as well. i didn't even find SW stuff to buy so i just bought some of the pullback cars - lightning, ramone and luigi.

my local WM decreased the number of pegs for Cars toys and another WM didn't have any pegs and put whatever they had on the top of the shelves.

Same thing here... went to the same WM that restocked the other day...

All pegs taken down & Superman put in its place. They have a few Smack-em things & a few Squeezy Maters, & a few flashlight thingies... but other than that, nothin.

You wouldnt happen to have an extra Lizzie would you? Would be willing to pay cost + shipping.... if not, no biggie... those two (Liz & Sarge) are the two hardest to find!

Went by Target today and thought I'd check their Cars section to see if they had anything you guys needed. There wasn't one "car" in sight. All the pegs were completely empty. Sorry fellas.

Blue mater is nice, but you can get him already in two different sets, course, it would be nice to get it in a single pack & not have to get the Rollin Bowlin game.

that slightly different version of Mack sounds like the Mack Transport i saw a few weeks ago at target (which sold out within a day). rather than the "Lightning McQueen" trailer, it has a car transport trailer and comes with Doc and Sally.

I went by WM late last night and looked to see if they had any Cars vehicles but they didn't. I didn't even see a spot for them either, I checked all the tags too. The WM here is kinda funky so it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't carry these.

I got quite a few of the Cars, strictly for my daughter. I've never been a toy car person. In one fell swoop I got her all but Sarge, Lizzie, Nitroade and Leakless. I only got one of the movie scenes though, the one with purple Ramone and Flo. Other than that, the Cars pegs are a desert, especially at Target and Wal-Mart.

Read online that Wal-mart was doing a reset in the toy section where they were putting out fresh stock & such...

Well, went to the normal section of cars stuff... nothing, looked like a ghost town. So started looking around the toy section and what did I see? They had a 5 by 7 peg space full of CARS!!!! TOTALLY COOL!!!

I picked up a Sheriff & Doc Hudson (both of mine were damaged & I was using them as placeholders until I could find something better) 2x Sarge & 2x Lizzie. Now I have two sets, one opened & one MIB!!!!

Now time to just wait around & get those new 8 cars (theres a Schumacher Ferrari coming out not listed above).... huh, good luck on those.....

I found new multi-packs of Cars cars at WalMart today,with the new blue-sparkly packaging. They didn't have any "new" versions, just multi-pack boxes of the old ones- but lots of Filmores and Sarges for those who never found them.

North Hollywood Target has the new "Supercharged" cars. I only found a Yellow Ramone- the rest were repacks of the original sets. The back of my Ramone card shows a "Dirt Track McQueen" which I wasn't aware of, and the "Brand New Mater".

Grabbed a Radiator Springs McQueen at Target this morning- the new figures must be 1-2 per case, because both times I have asked them to open a case, half of it is the old carded versions, then about 8 of the new "supercharged" cards, but most of them are repacks. All I really want now is a Hudson Hornet- but it might take a while to find these on the pegs.

Burbank TRU had the new "Movie Moments" 2-packs today: Filmore/Sarge, Flo/Ramone Purple, Sally/Cruisin' McQueen, Woody/Buz, Red/Stanley, etc. They (unlike Target) still aren't carrying the single die-cast "supercharged" waves. Where's the Piggy car that was found somewhere?

I have seen multiples of the brand new Maters and the dirt track McQueen(to a lesser extent) at TRU and Target several times now. I found all 3 of the parody cars a couple of weeks ago, the Buzz and Woody at TRU and Hamm at a Target. I have seen other people with Hamm on a couple of occassions(at both stores), and saw someone with Buzz and Woody at a Wal-Mart once. I just wanted one of each of these for my daughter, so if I find any more I'd be glad to stash, but like I've said a 100 times, most of you live on the other side of the county.

The Radiator Springs Mcqueen single and movie moment are two very different cars. The double pack one has white wall tires and no spoiler. The single pack one has the race car body but with the new paintjob like at the end of the movie.

Not in my area. Where I live, I've mostly seen Ferrari and the red Ramone. I have not seen RPM since the first time I saw it, about a month ago. Same with Bling Bling McQueen. I was only interested in Tex, Ferrari and RPm, which I got as soon as I saw them.

While those haven't been formally announced, they've been rumored for quite some time. Maybe we'll see pics at the Comic Con? In the Cars line, they would be renamed "Darrell Cartrip" and "Jr.".

What you should have done is explain to them that the recall is VOLUNTARY meaning if the consumer chooses to send it back. If someone is too friggin lazy to wash their hands after touching the thing then they shouldn't have bought it.

Very good point. People seem to be acting as if this were mandatory and also acting as if the cars were coated with uranium. On another board, I pretty much got trampled upon for suggesting otherwise.

Tell them the voice of reason is here on SSG. :D Lead is as dangerous as one allows it to be, it won't harm you if you keep things in mind like washing hands and not snorting the friggin dust from it. I bet those people snorted it lol. I have some old lead based star trek ships from the 80's and the wrath of khan FASA sets. The Akula class Russian SSN attack sub from crimson tide the movie was a giant 6 foot lead model. Somewhere around 3-6 feet I think. I think the leading edge games T2 future soldier set I have is also lead based or something.

It doesn't matter because it's a corporate decision. The individual stores don't have anything to do with it. I talked to an employee today and he said it's common knowledge only the Sarge has the lead (potential) problem, but that it's Target corporate that's responsible for the "Do Not Sell" thing. That's not done locally.

It sucks that they're being myopic even at the headquarter level, but it's pointless to argue let alone get really angry at the employees(unless of course they act like jerks). It's not going to accomplish anything.

Having said that, I would definitely stash a Yeti or any other Cars vehicle I want in the meantime because chances are they're going to be okayed and put back out to be sold.

I'm not sure when it will end, but I was a TRU yesterday and there was something in their add at the store about a free Sally or Doc with purchase and they had written "recalled" on it and no single carded Cars on pegs. They did have all the two packs plus some new TRU exclusive two packs for sale.

Yes, they were purchased by me.

According to my collection, these are new. As are the Tex Dinoco, Bug Mouth McQueen, Tongue McQueen, Bling Bling McQueen, RPM #64, & Yeti.

They may not be the newest ones out (Dale Jr, etc.) but where I live, these are the latest ones that have been put out.

Speck, Los Feliz TRU, La Cienega TRU and Crenshaw WM all have diecasts right now. the TRU's also have their exclusive "Movie Doubles" sets while some new Movie Moments have been released - Mr and Mrs. King, Mia/Tia.

A Target employee on another board that I go to said that they're changing the DCPI's for singles and movie moment 2 packs so they should be back on the shelves/pegs by the end of the month.

Cars diecasts were restocked at my local TRU (Los Feliz, CA) today. Nothing new that I needed but each and every one had a barcode sticker over the old barcode. I guess not only is Target changing the DCPI's but either Mattel or TRU took it upon themselves to put new stickers for new SKU's.

Glad you found it, didn't think to hide it as it's Disneyland and all, and there was a good chance it would go to a kid. Funny an SSGer was there too! Wal-Mart is starting to put out displays with new Cars. I got TJ(a Hummer) and the Lightyear blimp. Passed on a new Ramone and Cactus McQueen. There's supposed to be a total of 8. I think Walmart is getting these early, but they're not exclusives.

I grew up in a very large family and when toys were being purchased, each kid getting the same characters was frequently the general order. My mother buying a He-Man for my brother and a Mer-Man for me would have just been cause for too much fighting and bickering.

I have not had much luck finding the new Cars, which isn't all that horrible for me because I'm pretty half-assed about collecting them. But a collector I've helped out hooked me up with the helicopter, Dale EArnhardt Jr, Cartrip, Andretti, Yeti, Dusty Rust-eze and Rust-Eze, Bob Cutlass and the King and Mrs. King set. I previously did find the Mia and Tia set on my own and I had no problem finding all of the Wal-Mart exclusivies. I've passed on new versions of previous cars. .

Speaking of Not Chuck, just a bit of trivia in case anyone was wondering - Not Chuck is actually voiced by popular Bay Area radio talent Mike "No Name" Nelson of San Fransisco's KLLC 97.3FM's "Sarah and No Name" morning radio show. His partner, Sarah Clark provided the voice of news reporter Kori Turbowitz. Other members of the morning show also provided voices for various other characters as well.

The Disney store was having a sale on the whole line and I didn't have a ton of cash at the time so only got the two. what's the difference between the supercharged and the original versions on some of these? is there a functionality that makes them supercharged or is that just a thing on the cardback to make 'em seem better than they are?

Can't say for sure (else I'd have to kill you,) but you can probably rest assured that everyone will get their fill of Cars before all is said and done. I may or may not have seen some cool stuff!

Yeah, that sure is something, no? Kind of rough that it's very likely to be exclusive to the Hot Wheels Red-Line club, or whatever. Looks like it's pretty tough to join - near as I can tell they only open up membership at certain times of the year and only allow a certain number to join at a time? Can anyone confirm that? A few of us here at work are hoping our marketing department might be able to secure a small number for us in case it is as hard as it seems to join the club. Sucks when you think about how it might be the only way to get some of those cars, especially one in particular that might require licensing fees from a third company outside of Pixar and Mattel.

I don't think it's that tough to join the Red line club as quite a few people from the Cars board that I go to have joined in hopes of buying the Speedway set.

Also on that board, someone posted an upcoming lineup of Racer 3 packs (racer, crew chief and pit crew) - No Stall, Spare Mint, Shiny Wax, Leakless.

What company is making the Wall-E toys anyway? What are they priced at?

Speck, they're made by Thinkway Toys which I've never heard of but they've done a great job with the line, which for the moment only TRU has stocked thus far. They have smaller scale figures, close to 3 3/4", in a SW Titanium vehicle style packaging for $5.99. There are also $6.99 Movie Moment 2 packs which are kind of like SW Unleashed sets, it seems and then there are the $9.99 Deluxe figures which are around 5-6". Also there are some electronic interactive versions for around $30.
