Hello Everyone!

I wanted to apologize for not being around much these past few weeks. It has been kind of crazy since the holidays are coming around. I wanted to start this thread so I can answer any questions or address any concerns you may have. If you have any questions or concerns please post it in here and I will come in and answer them as often as I can.

Any specific dates set for the Clone Trooper helmets (regular, Special Ops, Star Corp, etc)?

Last I saw it said early 2006, but nothing really specific.

Will the Darth Maul FX be sold in 1 piece or 2, do you have any idea of the MSRP? Also will there ever be either display cases or a rack type device for the FX's?

I heard mid december for these to be sent out

Will the Darth Maul FX be sold in 1 piece or 2

The Maul FX will be in 2 pieces, you would have to buy both seperately in order to have the full double bladed saber.

What options are there for shipping other than FedEx ground?

I used my home address for a shipping address and discovered that FedEx ground does not work on Saturdays. So they will continue trying to deliver a package when no one will ever be home to sign for it (during the week when I'm at work), and after calling them it's unclear whether they will hold the package for me to come pick it up myself (package was supposed to be delivered yesterday, Thursday, and I won't know whether I'll get to pick it up till Tuesday).

This is very frustrating. The shipping took 10 days as it was, and now they won't even try to deliver it when someone will be there to pick it up, nor will they leave it- despite having left a note instructing them where to deposit it.

What's amazing is that this is the first time ever any delivery service has actually NOT left a package without a signature. Normally they just chuck it on the doorstep no matter what.

What's the pricepoint on the mini blasters going to be?Yeah, I'd also like to know. Will they be the same as the mini sabers? When can we expect to see them out there? (I'm really looking forward to those!)

About the Maul FX saber... last I'd heard, you hadn't decided if it was only going to sell as a half saber... or if there was also going to be a "set" with two halves.

Unfortunately delays are quite common in this business. These products take a lot of little pieces so if just one piecs is delayed it delays the whole product. We try to give the best dates we can but sometimes things happen that were unexpected which causes the delays.

Believe me, we do not like them any more than our customers!

We are now requiring signature on every package that goes out. There were a lot of problems with Fed Ex just leaving packages on peoples door steps. Packages were left in the rain, getting stolen, etc. In the future you might want to use a work address or a neighbor's address who will be home to sign for it.

Hi Amy,
Is there any chance of MR using the .45 scale to create Blaster replicas similiar to the lightsabers ? I think since we really only have a few designs left for the lightsabers that other props such as mini helmets, blasters, or other technology seen throughout the star wars saga.

Not a question on prices here... Will the costume replicas be sold "as fitted for the actor" or in "S M L XL" to fit the purchaser?

Alright Amy, perhaps you can answer a very strange question for me. The other day I got my first MR F/X Lightsaber, a Mace Windu lightsaber. According to the box, it has a bright purple glowing blade... When I put the 6 batteries in it and fired her up, I was shocked to see it was more close to white than purple, it has 2 light purple stripes running down the side, I thought it may just be a fluke, but my friend also got a Mace Windu saber, which was also white with purple stripes... Is this how all of them are, or what? MrHat

Hey Amy (MR Rep), can we get an official word or atleast semi-official word on when the Special Ops, Shock Trooper, and Regular EP3 Clone Trooper helmets are going to ship?

I want to be ready for these ones rather than find a surprise charge to my credit card. Its a nice surprise to see them shipping, but it makes figuring out your expenses/bills tough when a random charge for $500 appears.

They will probably ship by the end of the week which means we will probably have them by middle of next week.

As for the membership cards, kind of pointless to receive a 2005 membership card when they are about to expire and we will have to renew for '06 already.

decadentdave

I'm pretty sure if you are a resident of CA or NJ you are charged sales tax. That could explain why you were billed $570 instead of $525.

I recently heard a report that the Anakin Skywalker ROTS Force FX lightsabers are now out of production and inventory is running low. Is this true??? I've always been under the impression that the Force FX sabers were an open-ended production number. Is this a bogus rumor? Are you pulling a Disney and putting it "back in the vault" for 'x' number of years? Is it being retired forever?

I'd love to get one, but financially it's not feasible for another couple months. I'd like to know if there's a good chance I'll miss out on it.

Thanks!!

Maybe she'll tell you who they shipped it to. When you find out, you can kill that person by cutting their arm and legs off, then knocking them into burning lava, and then take their lightsaber. That's the SW way anyway. :D

Hello!

I wanted to give you all a heads up on the email that will be going out tomorrow to all of our customers who purchased any of the Vader Helmets.
With regards to the Shock Troop and Clone Trooper helmets, if you have any problems with them please contact customerservice@masterreplicas.com and we will handle it for you.

The Special Ops is a more complicated issue because it has to do with plaques. We are working with our vendor and licensor and should have a solution within the next day or two. We will be getting back to you all on this shortly. We appreciate your patience.

We are very sorry to everyone who has experienced problems with the helmets. We understand how dissapointing this is to all of our customers and it is very disapointing to us as well. While we can't change anything that has happened, we can remedy the problems for you and that is what we intend to do.

The following is the email that will be going out tomorrow:

Dear Master Replicas Customer:
This letter is to provide an update to all of our customers who have ordered a Darth Vader helmet.
As you may know, Master Replicas is facing some quality issues with all editions of the Darth Vader Episode III Helmets. All shipments of the helmets have been placed on hold until these issues are resolved. This includes the Limited, Signature and Dual Signature Editions.
First, we would like to apologize for this inconvenience. We know how long many of you have been anticipating the release of this iconic prop replica. Rest assured that Master Replicas is committed to doing our best to satisfy all of our customers needs and will do whatever is necessary to rectify this problem.
Some customers may have received helmets with a small scuff mark on the top of the dome. We have thoroughly analyzed this problem and have determined that this can occur during shipping. Therefore, in order to accommodate everyone most efficiently, we are contacting everyone who has purchased a Darth Vader helmet to alert them of this potential issue.

We will be performing a 100% quality inspection of the existing stock in our warehouse. Only helmets that meet our high quality standards will be accepted and repacked properly to avoid potential damage during shipping. These will then be used as replacements for any defective helmets returned for replacement. We estimate that this inspection will take three weeks to complete, and expect to resume shipping shortly thereafter.
Additionally we have discovered that the embroidery on one of the storage bags can also scuff the helmet. This component will also be replaced for all customers.
Since the damage occurred after our inspection in the factory, there is no way to determine how many helmets were actually damaged in shipping. However, we anticipate that the inventory of quality products will accommodate all replacement requests. We will have final confirmation of the replacement inventory once our inspection is completed.
For those customers who have not yet received their helmets, please understand that all replacement requests must be processed first. We apologize for delaying your shipment further, but we are making every effort to ensure you receive the highest quality collectible possible. We will let you know in the next few weeks when helmet shipments will resume.
This replacement program is completely voluntary. However, if you are not satisfied with your helmet for any reason, Master Replicas will be delighted to provide you with a replacement or a full refund.
If you did not purchase your helmet from Master Replicas or an Authorized Retailer, we will still REPLACE your damaged helmet. We apologize that we are not able to refund your money.
If you would like a replacement for your helmet:
1. Please email darthvader@masterreplicas.com no later than Friday, February 24, 2006 to request a Replacement Authorization number. We will also provide you with complete instructions and a pre-paid return shipping label to return your helmet. Please note that we will require all of the original packaging with all of the original packing materials.
If you would like to return your helmet for a refund:
1. If you purchased your helmet directly from Master Replicas please email darthvader@masterreplicas.com no later than Friday, February 24, 2006 to request a Refund Authorization number. We will provide you with complete instructions and a pre-paid return shipping label to return your helmet. Please note that we will require all of the original packaging with all of the original packing materials. Upon receipt of your helmet, we will credit your account for the total amount charged, including shipping. This will take approximately 7-10 business days after receipt of the defective helmet.
2. If you purchased your Darth Vader Helmet from one of our Authorized Retailers, please contact them to arrange for a refund.
Once again we apologize for this inconvenience, Master Replicas will do everything in our power to remedy the situation to your satisfaction in a timely manner.
Thank You.

Hi Turbowars,

I am not quite sure I get the greed comment. Of course we would have preferred that all of our helmets went out in perfect condition. Believe me, we are losing money on this mistake, not making it so I am not quite sure what this means exactly.

We are very sorry that this situation has developed and we are going to take care of it as you will see in the email going out that I posted.

Great, so how about answering some of the questions that have been asked? You guys need to get your act together. If you are going to sell a premium product you would think you would have handled it better in the first place. It's all about Greed.

I recently received both the Vader and Clonetrooper helmets and was very pleased with the quality of these helmets. The storage bags for the Vader helmet was a great idea and helps to keep dust from settling since acrylic displays cases would have been cost prohibitive. The plaque keeps falling off the Clonetrooper stand but I can probably find a stickier adhesive so no big deal. The paint on my Elite Obi-Wan was rubbed off partially on the number so don't know if that is something you guys can fix or replace but if you can I would really appreciate it.

How will this affect the release of the upcoming Stormtrooper and Boba Fett helmets? Will this delay the product shipping in '06? I was REALLY looking forward to these. And are there any plans to do a Studio Scale Jango Fett helmet in '07? Would look really good with that pair of blasters!

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to give you the heads up on an email that is going out to our Authorized Retailers regarding the Special Ops Helmet:

Dear Authorized Retailers and Distributor Partners,

Last week, we shared with you our concern that some of the Special Ops Helmets may have shipped from the factory without the certificate of authenticity and plaque. We appreciate your responsiveness and diligence in checking each of your shipments for these items.

Based on the information you provided, along with the inspections conducted at our warehouse, we have confirmed that a number of Special Ops Helmets are indeed missing their plaques and certificate of authenticity.

In light of this finding we regret that we are unable to provide individually numbered plaques for the Special Ops Helmets. Master Replicas CANNOT reprint the missing numbered plaques, as it would compromise the integrity of this limited edition item. Additionally, we believe that the investment value of our products is of utmost importance and must be protected.

In place of individually numbered plaques, we will issue a total edition size plaque that will show the total edition size of 750. The plaque will also feature the Authorized Retailer logo to distinguish it as an Authorized Retailer exclusive. This will ensure that each Special Ops Helmet has a collectible plaque, without compromising the value of the item. We will provide you with these replacement plaques as soon as they are available so that you can distribute them to your customers. We anticipate that these plaques will be ready in approximately two months, but we are working on expediting this process to make them available to you sooner.

We understand that this resolution represents a significant departure from our normal Limited Edition products. However, based upon the options that are available to us, we believe that this is the only way to still deliver a quality product to your customers, while protecting the value of this highly sought after item.

In order for us to better understand this issue, we request that you contact wholesalecs@masterreplicas.com and record your plaque number with us. Additionally, Master Replicas will be inserting the total edition size plaque into all Special Ops Helmets in inventory and all future shipments. We will suspend shipments until they can be inspected and replacement plaques have been inserted.

In light of the Special Ops Helmet being oversold, we want to ensure that you and your customer are satisfied with the product. Master Replicas

Before all the pitchforks start coming out http://www.rpf.invisionzone.com/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif I would like to take a minute to explain why we had to do this.

As most of you know, some of these helmets went out without plaques. The problem is that we cannot remake the plaques because these plaques were already printed once. If we remake plaques, we risk duplicating serial numbers which we cannot do.

The only way for us to still let people have this product was to do it this way. If we didn't we would have had to scrap the whole product, recall all helmets that were already out there and not let anyone else have one.

This was a huge mistake on our part. We know it. Believe me, it is just as hard on us as it is for our customers. We are very, very sorry but this was the only solution. Of course, if you do not want the product because of this you can send it back to your retailer for a refund. Since this was a retailer exclusive you will need to go through them for the refund

Hi TurboWars,

Thank you for letting us know of your frustrations. Believe me, we are feeling them as well. I am not going to make any excuses for the helmets. They were a new line of product for us and mistakes were definately made. We wish we could go back and undo them but unfortunately we can only learn from them at this point. We will however do whatever we can for our customers by replacing or refunding anyone that needs it.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. They are very much appreciated.

Hey MR. No hard feels. You do have a great company. I just wish I could afford all of your products.

Hi Amy,

I know that MR tries to offer Signature Editions whenever possible but sometimes cannot get the actor to participate due to schedule conflicts or personal reasons. Can you confirm if Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Harrison Ford and Ian McDiarmid have all been asked to participate in signing some of your pieces but had to decline for various reasons? I know some collectors have been holding out on purchasing LE's thinking that an SE will inevitably be offered. Also, if they had to decline due to scheduling conflicts is there any chance they could participate at some later date and an SE will become available? We'd just like to know who is a potential candidate for an SE and who to write off on our list of hopeful candidates. Thanks.

I dont see a problem with voicing concerns in a Q and A thread. Amy is here to answer our concerns and questions. That is what people are doing. MR wants to hear customer feedback so they can see what the market wants in terms of product and CS. whats so bad about giving a little criticism?

I dont see a problem with voicing concerns in a Q and A thread.Neither do I. The point of this thread is obviously to ask Amy -- who is kind enough to drop in when she can -- questions about Master Replicas products. It's not the thread for back and forth sniping between forum members (for any reason.)

Not every thread can be a place for squabbling. Sorry.

So, if you have concerns to voice, then voice them to Amy (and be nice) or take it somewhere else. Cool?

 Movin' on comrades!

Hi DecadantDave,

I am not sure if we have approached these actors or not. I am not in Product Development. I would think however that if we ever get the opportunity that we would do them if possible.

I just read the Maul FX saber will be sold as battle damaged halves, translated this means I have to buy two sabers to get the one big one?

Yes, but each battle-damaged half is the size of a regular FX saber as well as having the crystal on the end (just like the battle-damaged mini). It would be impractical to sell the fully-assembled saber (imagine stocking or shipping a seven-foot long box), and it'd end up costing just as much because of the size.

Sell it as a full saber but seperated into the halves rather than fully assembled.

As I understand it (and anyone including Amy :) is welcome to chime in if they know better), the idea was that by selling each half as an individual saber, it gives people that only want to pay for one half at a time, an option. If say one day you have the money for one half, but then a month later you've saved up to buy the other.

-----

Amy, have you guys decided if you'll package it both ways -- both as a pair or as just one half?

Amy,
when will the Anakin costume (displayed at toy fare) be available for consumers? What is the price range? Will parts be sold seperatly (i.e. buy just the Jedi robe)? Will there be an Obi- Wan costume also?

Thanks:thumbsup:

The Toy Fair coverage shows the Maul FX is being offered in a "full saber" box with 2 halves, SirSteve tells me that he heard the "full saber" set will be slightly cheaper than just buying the half version (which IS also being offered) twice.

JMS bring your saber and I'll bring mine to the next convention. I'll fight you for Hasbro Clone Troopers :D

That will be a great battle!

Well, Sal and I arranged a different Clone-Sharing Agreement (CSA). Now if Hasbro decides to make the Galactic Marines or the Kashyyyk infantry/scout troopers, there may be a new challenge eventually. But we're already set on Utopau. I'm afraid "there's no money in it" any more.

But I just don't buy as much as Sal (if I ever did). IF they make the Galactic Marines, I'd want about 4-5 of them. Kashyyyk's troopers? Probably about 7 to 10 of them. Sal would get 50 or so, I'd bet.

I'm up for the challenge...

heh heh.

hmm, let see here's what I want/need/plan for, for those particular clones:
Kashyyk: 40-60
Galactic Marines: 20-30

Here's why:
Kashyyyk: holding to true to how many you see in the movie, these clones are abundant. Even though the scenes were quick you got a sense of the amount of these clones there where in them.
Dioramas planned for the Kashyyyk scenes include:
Command tree hut
Tree branch
Beachfront assualt

The Command tree hut only need one as that's what was seen.
The branch will have about 10. (Less if that's what was seen)
But the Beachfront assault is where the bulk of Gree's clones comes into play. The beachfront diorama by comparison is one of the smaller one for me in floor space (though it's rather tall). It takes up an area of 6X5 feet though extends upwards to 8ft. (Those trees were massive huh!?)

Both the banch and command hut will be part of this diorama thereby incorporating all of them into one big Kashyyk scene.

By contrast there were not that many Galactic Marines seen in the movie, though we can ascertain that they were plentiful.
Mygeeto: Since we only really saw about a dozen of these guys on screen. that's what will be in this diorama. Though I want the extras for an imagined "Landing on Mygeeto" scene utilizing the Hasbro "ROTS" paint scheme Gunship.

I have a "method to my madness" so to speak. I just don't by blindly. I stop when I've attained what I set out for and buy no more than that.

Agreeably that's quite a bit, but it also helps to keep stores ordering more. When they do that, new stuff keeps coming in there by indirectly helping the greater collecting community in may area.

Anyway, back on topic...
-Sal
