And Steve passed the one you sent to him onto me, so I got it from you twice, plus a few other users forwarded it to me, plus the jerk sent it to me directly. :p Anyway, I have banned him now, and have asked Steve to check into some things relating to this recent spamming situation. But now I wish I had just gone to sleep instead of checking my email. :tired:

I just checked, this spammer is from China, a lot of spam on the web is coming from there lately, quite a troublesome situation really.

JT, I figured it was the same cat as the last time but since it was a different username I wanted to start a new thread instead of bumping up the one from last month . . . just in case this was a whole new case, I wanted it to grab attention right away.

Something Chux pointed out in another thread about this, he asked how people were able to pull this crap, and the answer seems to be that they're putting in the time and effort to do it by the books. Even with copy-paste or a program that fills in all the fields, our system is limited to 1 email at a time and 5 PMs at a time, so to spam here has to be at least somewhat time-consuming. I guess this guy sees his time as worthless because I can't imagine him making jack squat on this spamming and whatever he makes has to be weighed against the time he put into making it, I know he's in China but spending days on end to make $20 really doesn't seem like the best use of one's time.

Ok... here is how I hopefully solved the spam issues... new users will now have to post 10 times before they are able to include links and images within their posts and private messages. Another words, new users have to earn the right to include links and images within their posts. I am working on making this work for PM's.

What about email addresses? That's what this specific spammer sent.
