I did a search and found no thread for this. And on a Star Wars site when the movie stars Ewan Mac? Anyhow, I went to see this with some pretty low expectations but came away completely surprised in how much I liked it. It was a good sci-fi movie. Did anyone else catch it? What did you think about it?
The big blast about it was how it was a rip-off of Blade Runner and Logan’s Run, and didn’t feel “original”. How can critics blast a sci-fi movie for that in a summer of Sequels and Re-makes? Not Original? Most sci-fi movies have common themes. How is Bad News Bears or the Dukes of Hazzard original? I think it’s because Michael Bay openly slams the critics. I think it was him who said “Let the critics blast my movies, I’ll go out and make 200 million anyhow.” Well he didn’t make much on this movie, but I feel it deserved a better reception than it got. I really liked it, and will get it on DVD the day it’s released. Maybe I need to move to the UK, as this movie and King Arthur killed in the UK when the flopped here in the US- and I’m a big fan of both movies.
