Anyone know when it is going to air?
Summer TV has pretty much sucked so far..

I haven't heard anything yet but I'd expect it won't start before the Fall lineup in Sept/Oct. The last two seasons ran with only a month or so gap between them so the show was due for a break. Plus I think CBS has Big Brother in The Amazing Race's normal time slot throughout the summer.

The fall.

CBS is starting to advertise for teams of two for the following AR, for in the spring. That's good.

Ok thanks guys- I hardly ever watch CBS and was worried that I missed it or something.

I checked out cbs.com and it has a little blurb about all the families (4-member teams). A couple of teams have kids under 10 in them. I wonder how they'll fare in the Boris Yeltsin drink-your-weight-in-vodka challenge when they visit Russia. :crazed:

I think the show is set to start three weeks from tonight on Sep. 27.

Looking forwrad to this show as usual and yeah you're correct Man Can, it starts on the 27th at 9 pm and apparently a lot of it takes place in a car. :frus:

Well, first team gone...I kinda feel sorry for the kids, 'cause they really pulled their own.

Are they even gonna go overseas on this one?

mastermatt24

I sure hope they do.. but I did see the American Flag in the begining so I dont really know.
I have to say im not to excited this seaon. The Italian family INFURIATES me. I can not stand them!!! I feel so bad for the dad. :(

I'm starting to think no on the overseas stuff.

Families with the smaller kids are at a disadvantage at competitions like the rowing. But pulling them in the buggy would be OK. Less weight.

Good mix of families and personalities so far.

I, too, felt sorry for the little guys who lost. They put their hearts into it.

I'm sure that they will go over seas, but I wonder if they will wait and try to 'weed' out thelittle ones before doing so. Forget the Italians getting on my nerves, the widow race car driver wife and family are the ones I really dislike.

That guy looks like he's given up on his hosebag kids and the yenta wife. Man, they really give Jersey/NY people a bad name acting like total loudmouths. I was hoping they'd be gone the first episode cause the only smart choice they made was making the watermill instead of pushing the buggy.

I also feel bad for the Black family. It didn't look like the kids could help too much building the watermill, but I think they had their hearts in it. I give em a big

The four sisters (pink ladies) were annoying with their yapping, but other than them and the loudmouths I thought everyone else was OK.

I thought the show was just hohum. Not nearly as exciting as the two-men teams. I can see them spending a lot of time in the SUVs rather than flying and having to take a bunch of taxis. How can you fit four people, plus a cameraman, and the cabbie in one of those little asian bike-taxis? From the opening of the show it looks like it'll be more of a race across America rather than around the world. They'll probably end up in Alaska.

I liked the family with the two small kids, the Gagans if I remember correctly? The little girls comments to her brother when they were riding in the buggy after he was apologizing for not being much help "get used to it dork!" reminded me of my sister and I growing up. lol So far I think they're my favorite team.

The pink ladies and that LOUD Weaver family are annoying as hell. I actually found the Italian family to be pretty entertaining, in an extremely disfunctional way of course.

Hopefully this season won't disappoint because I wasn't real keen on this whole family idea in the first place. I did actually enjoy the first episode more than I thought I would though and its always fun to see how many poeple take a header into the ground when the race initially starts. :hurt: lol

The Bransen Family is my favorite, mainly because of the three hot daughters.:lipsrseal

I thought the Linz family was going to be a serious threat and I was shocked to see them come in 2nd to last. The Italian, Paolo, family has to go, but that is mainly because of the mom, yuck. I'm also not a big fan of that Gaghan family.

I think the Linz' failure was in picking the buggy option at the detour/roadblock. Even the widow family realized it was crap (well, cause they jacked up their buggy) and went back to build the watermill. I hope Tuesday's episode will pick up more and we'll see less of the Jersey peeps.

lol Yea, that was great! lol I think the Linz team has a real good chance of winning.

OK...anyone else feel bad for the little girl? Wow did they good a job.

I'll be honest with you. For the most part I could not stand the Gaghans and I was anxiously waiting for them to lose a leg in the race and go home. I was feeling pretty good when Phil told them they were eliminated...until... they showed the little girl crying. It was kinda sad and made me feel bad for them. I would have much rather have seen the Italians go.

Anyways, my Bransen team is still in it  but I don't think they have a good chance of winning with their Dad in the race. He does nothing but slow them down and whatnot. To be blunt, he is quite a panzy.

The best part of this past weeks episode is when the little Italian kid (I think)asked that drunk man at the bar for directions. The drunk said.. "Maybe dos kilometers." I just could not stop from laughing! lol

I never thought they would win (I want the Linz team to win...they crack me up) but I was glad to see them get so far...I never thougth they would make it as far as they did.

But I would have rathered they stayed than the Weavers.

And what happended to the Paolo family? I think their Dad finally smacked his boys around and told them to stop treating their mom like garbage on International TV.

UKWildcat

I'll admit that the Paolo family doens't bother me as much as they did at first but I still find them annoying at times. I did gain a whole lot of respect for the dad though. He single handedly did that one Detour for the family, carrying all those bananas! I still find the mom and kids annoying.

I'll agree that the Weaver family needs to go sooner rather than later. It's awesome how everyone in the race can't stand them either.

Agreed. Those backwater hicks really bug the heck out of me. The whole religious piety they play up is nauseating. They go for the whole 'we love everybody' in one breath to 'I hate those people' in the next.

I still don't like the Italian family, but they did try to help the other teams at the Panama bus station get ahead of Team DoubleWide. What happened to a good old fashioned arse whipping of an Italian dad on his bratty kids? That dad needs to bust out Goodfellas, Godfather, and Sopranos for his two loudmouth sons and scare them straight. :whip:

Well, they finally eliminated the italians last night. Man those guys are dopes. They couldn't count up the SUVs right at the leg where they showed up next-to-last. I was busting up when they started putting on their underwear over their clothes. I was sure the Bransons were going to get booted off since they just had a non elimination leg two weeks ago but was glad to see them hang around.

Now we just have to get the trailer park family out.

OC47150

For once, I'd like to see the Linz family finish first. But what hurts them in rushes to the finish line like last night are the big brothers. They weighed that little boat down.

Tony and Marion Paolo wear tidey whiteys. We didn't need to know that.

I like the Paolos. They spiced the show up.

And DJ's comment about burying his mother's body in the river and it never be found. Junior, that works both ways.

Lake Powell is wear they filmed the opening spaceship crash scenes for the original Planet of the Apes.

Yeah, you're right. They did make the show interesting while the trailer brigade is just pitiful. The line about burying his mom's body in the river was too funny. I laughed the rest of the show about that one.

And how cool was the trick flying detour? Day-um, they got to do their own loop too.

Yea, they sure did. Especially that Dad. All he said was "Son of a B!@#?" lol I'm still not sad to see them go, but I will miss their comic relief.

On the other hand, I would much rather have seen the constantly annoying Weaver family leave. Everytime I see them I want to shoot myself. They are horrible... and they are rumored to be the most hated team in the history of the Amazing Race... I'll agree!

The Weavers can only blame themselves for the views and negative comments they've received, IMO. Editing does play a factor but the image of them being strong Christians and praying for guidance, etc.... and then cutting someone like Tony Paolo down because he's a sanitation worker just projects a bad image.

I've read interviews with the evicted teams and most everyone has less than complimentary things to say about the Weavers.

If the Weavers are so disgusted, just quit.

Yea, I just knew that it was going to be a non-elimination leg too. I will be interested to see what the Weavers have to say on The Early Show after they hopefully get kicked off.

The only way last night's show could have been better is if the trailer folk had been booted off, but I knew it was nonelimination. They always do one when they get down to four teams. I'm wondering if next week's show is the full two hour finale or just a one hour deal. They usually keep four teams for the last show, one gets ejected at the end of the first hour and the last is the final leg. Last night they didn't say anything about the finale being next week so maybe it's the last elimination leg before the final.

How many yields are there? There have been two so far (Paolos and Linzes used them) and I thought Phil said there are only two on the whole show, but in the preview for next week mama marlboro was alluding to the Linzes that they were going to use a yield on them.

To my knowledge there were only two yields as well. Isn't it great that both teams used the yield against that awful Weaver team too? lol It's too bad it didn't help to get them eliminated. I do remember the promo for next week, the Weavers confront the Linz's and are like "Aren't you mad you wasted a Yield" or whatever. Interesting show. That type of ending happened before in one or two seasons ago...just another way of stretching out the season.

Those Weavers are just freaking nuts. The other teams are likeable, but they are just a bunch of sniveling whiners. They remind me of the one tattle-tale kid in every elementary school class that can't get along with anyone else. I so want them to be offed at the next pit stop.

UKWildcat
11-30-2005, 10:57 PM
Yea, that sucks that the teams are basically penalized due to no fault of their own. I think that if the production error made them lose 30 minutes, the time should be added when they arrive to Phil and the mat. That would make it fair. Unless, of course, it is the Weaver family that gets the production error.

I openly wept when the Linzes jumped on the final mat. Throughout the show, they'd made little missteps and mistakes but not last night.

The Weavers were thrown for a loop with finding the ticket at the Montreal stadium. They were off their game from that point on.

Mandalorian Candidat
12-14-2005, 03:18 PM
Yeah, they totally threw in the towel at that point. Their justification on "we beat them" on getting to Olympic Stadium first was so lame. I didn't see much of the show but was surprised when I turned on the tube and found the Weavers ahead of the other teams going into the trapeze challenge. I was really surprised that Wally got beat on the puzzle; it looked like he was ahead of the Linz brother.

I was wanting the Bransons to win but the Linzes seem like good peeps so props to them. I'm so glad team chubby thighs (or whatever the Linzes called them on the golf carts) came in last.

I was just scoping out wikipedia.com about AR9. They have an entry for the show, which they speculate should start airing in Feb. I guess it's been in the can for a few weeks already.

AR9 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Amazing_Race_9)

You can Yahoo up the link for the application for AR10 too.
