New Section: Gentle Giant

I think Gentle Giant really deserves it's own section instead of being buried in the "Other (Star Wars)" section. As of today the Gentle Giant thread has been open for exactly seven months and it has 45 pages of posts. Many of the topics that are discussed in this thread could (and should) be branched out into seperate threads. IMO the only reason Gentle Giant discussions haven't branched out into multiple threads is because the forum members who post there are respectful of the Other SW section and don't want to clutter it with Gentle Giant talk.

Some things to consider: Gentle Giant already has 4 seperate lines -Mini Busts, Bust Ups, Clone Wars Maquettes and Statues. And there is a fair amount of product that is slated for release in the second half of this year alone.

This is what has been announced so far:
6 -Mini Busts
6 -Bust Ups/ 4th Series
3 -Clone Wars Maquettes
1 -Statue

I definitely think there is enough interest in this company and it's different lines to warrant it getting it's own section. What do you guys think?

I think it's a good argument as well. Just the other night I wanted to fire up a new thread about MBNA (they use GG busts for promos) and I had to snoop around a bit to make sure that I used the right forum . . . I noticed Master Replicas has its own forum (as well it should) and I honestly think Gentle Giant should have one, too.

Another thing to consider is that there are new people being added to the ranks of GG collectors (myself, for example) and although I did post in that official GG thread, it felt to me like it was covering ALL kinds of GG-related topics and it really could be better organized in that sense. I do think Hellboy is correct though about the GG people being courteous enough to not have it spill all over the Other section.

SirSteve, please consider this. :)

I'm all for Gentle Giant having its own section. They are just as big of a company and player in the SW collecting world as Master Replicas is. They deserve to elevated to the same level on these boards too.
