Hey JT or Steve- That new fourm section thread doesnt seem to be helping a lot with getting new stuff donw.. I figured this would get a little more attention if I put it here: can you make a thing for art, so people can post the things they have done?
So I could post my picture:

:DWhat is the new one? It's a bit on the light side (no pun intended). I can make out the Star Destroyers but not much else.

This (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/Rocketboy78/Artwork/Solo.jpg) is the only Star Wars one I have a decent pic of (as of right now).
I had a class assignment to do something on a pre-printed fabric. I decided to get experimental with it and ended up doing a series of four (with different pics).

They've worked well for me so far- People have liked my watercolor work (non SW) and chalk stuff maybe ill upload it. I really want to try oil but its really really expensive to get all the stuff... Any Ideas for a Water Color Sw painting?

If you have the Art of ROTS go to page 25 and you'll see it.

Any Ideas for a Water Color Sw painting?Someting based on Dagobah, Bespin, or Naboo seem like could easily lend themselves to watercolor.

Could you post it when it's done?

No Prob! Ill even post its progress- I finished penciling ( I hope  ) and might be painting tomorrow. ( I was to lazy to take a picture..)
With any luck it will end up something like this: http://photobucket.com/albums/b250/mastermatt24/?action=view&current=100_9590.jpg

I have an idea for a WC (pg 222 of Art of ROTS), the Tatoine suns setting with the Lars home on the left. We'll see, I got a long way to go. If I like the way this one turns out im gonna do another one on (same size) that looks like: http://photobucket.com/albums/b250/mastermatt24/?action=view&current=100_9592.jpg
I really like that middel one. Sorry bout the crappy pic.... couldnt get it to come out without the flash.

We had a section specifically for Art and it didn't take off. However, you can post anything from your Star Wars Collection in our Photo Gallery Collections Area.

-SW FanArt (mastermatt's work + any other artist)

-SW FanFic (granted, haven't seen too much of this here)

-SW Trivia (there are two active threads, #1 (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=25538) & #2 (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=27288), in different sections + the Jabba's Skiff Guards thread (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=251), which is a kind of trivia)

-SW Games & Puzzles (Cryptoquotes (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=28464) + a crossword puzzle would be cool too)

-SW Humor (jokes, action figure theatre and/or homemade cartoons or strips)

No one used it. Every Registered Member here has their own Photo Gallery section they can upload Star Wars related pictures to.

Call me lazy, but Im not one to go broswing through a photo gallery.. If I need to put up pics i just use photobucket and put up a link (as you probably know) And as for people not using it- arent many of the topics inactive??

SirSteve
09-19-2005, 11:44 AM
Don't knock-it until you try it. :)

Topics inactive? You get your own section called, "Collections" and you can add whatever Star Wars images you want to it.

Could we possibly do something like RS did- use the TCG section for fan art and the like??

SirSteve

While I am not going to say no, this is a forum system and not a photo gallery. A few images are ok but we have a fully featured photo gallery where you can upload your images and still talk about them...

mastermatt24
10-10-2005, 09:45 PM
Ok I think you are confused by what Im asking- let me show you.As you can see here at RS http://threads.rebelscum.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=UBB28&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o= they use the TCG section for art related topics- Im not interested in hosting pictures (I have photobucket), I just need a place to stick topics (because paintings and the like arent really customs). So, could we use the TCG (or other section) to put our art related topics in? Thanks for any consideration Steve.

SirSteve

I guess I am confused as you can do the exact same thing... upload pictures, and discuss each and every one of them there. Our photo gallery system uses the same Forums login so everyone can post a comment about each image.

mastermatt24
10-11-2005, 05:25 PM
ok ill rephrase my question.
Can I post art realted topics in the TCG section?

JediTricks
10-12-2005, 02:56 PM
No, that section is for TCG. You can start topics in the Gen Disc section or the Misc-Other section though, and if there's enough interest and enough topics (from multiple users ;)) then that will go a long way towards convincing us of a need for a new art sub-forum.

If you post in Gen Disc, you can't just post a link though, you have to actually start a thread with real conversation, even if it's just a few sentences explaining the work or the influences or whatever.
