View Full Version : Jedi Council in Ep. 3
Ok, I've searched all the way back to 5-16-05 post and haven't found where anyone has really broght this up. So, here goes, who exactly was on the Jedi Council in Ep. 3? I've seen the movie three times and have tried to pay attention during the Council Hologram scene on Kashyyk, plus the actual scenes in the Council Chamber, and here is what I have come up with. I am thinking there may be some inconsitencies
1. Mace Windu
2. Yoda
3. Ki-Adi-Mundi
4. Plo Koon
5. Saesee Tiin
6. Obi-Wan Kenobi
7. Shaak Ti (seen in Hologram on Kashyyk)
8. Staas Gallia (?) (not sure about her)
9. Ager Kolar (?)
10. Pablo Jill looking alien (in Council Chamber scene)
11. Coleman Trebor looking alien (in Council Chamber scene)
12. Kit Fisto (seen in Hologram on Kashyyk)
13 (?) Anakin Skywalker
14 (?) Aalya Secura (I think she is seen in the Hologram of the Council)
And now here is the real point; did Anakin replace a Jedi that was on the Council or was he filling a vacant seat? I think filling a vacant seat would make more sense with the Chancellor's appointment. In other words, do you really think the Jedi would make a "Master" step down from the Council just to put a "Knight" in his/her place to please the Chancellor.
Plus, I guess the dialogue about Anakin being on the Council and not being made a "Master" ("its NEVER been done in the history of the Jedi") kinda makes all the EU stuff about Ki-Adi-Mundi being only a "Knight" null and void. That's why I really don't keep track of all the EU stuff. Although, I thougt at least mentioning "Master Vos" was pretty cool; however I would have at least liked to have seen a scene with him in it.
By the way, I understand that there are only 12 members to the Jedi Council; that is why I think there may be some kind of contradiction in Episode 3.

Hmm, i havent really tried to figure out who was on the Council, but my guess would be it consisted of: Yoda, Mace Windu, Obi-wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi Mundi, Agen Kolar, Stass Allie, Saesee Tiin, Pablo Jill, and Kit Fisto. No other Jedi come to mind, so maybe Anakin was taking the place of a Jedi who had recently died during the Clone Wars. Personally i think it would have been cool if a couple of the chairs were empty so that it would seem like the war was taking a very serious toll on them.

In the scene where Anakin was appointed to the council, I saw:
Mace Windu
Yoda
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Anakin Skywalker
Ki-Adi-Mundi
Plo Koon
Saesee Tiin
Agen Kolar
Pablo-Jill (or someone who looks like him)
I don't know who the others are.

Anakin could have just been completely mistaken about Ki-Adi, or he might have forgotten him when whining to Obi-Wan.
And I'm 99% sure Aayla was never actually on the Council.

I count:
1. Yoda
2. Mace Windu
3. Ki-Adi-Mundi
4. Plo Koon
5. Saesee Tiin
6. Kit Fisto
7. Stass Allie
8. Agen Kolar
9. Pablo Jill
10. Obi-wan Kenobi
11. Shaak Ti
12. Anakin Skywalker
My question is, was their 13 members once Anakin got on or was he filling a vacant seat?

Oppo Rancisis was killed in the Republic comics just prior to E3.
I think Anakin took his seat.

On that note:
I know Coleman Trebor was killed by Jango Fett.
But what happened to Opo Rancisis, Depa Billaba, Adi Galia, Even Piell, Eeth Koth, Yaddle, and Yarael Poof? I think these are all of the other members of the council shown in either Episode I or Episode II that left before Episode III. I am sure they all died (except maybe Depa Billaba who may have turned to the Dark Side and gone into a coma or something), but how did they die?
I personally predict that in a future release of Episode I Yaddle will be replaced by someone else. I don't think Lucas liked the idea of two of Yoda's species and decided it was a bad idea. The making of Episode III book says that they have now redone Yoda scenes in Episode I so he is all CG. A change I am in favor of. I would be upset if they made Yoda CG for Empire or Jedi though.

Jedi Council Members Deaths
TPM - Yarael Poof - sought to stop mercenaries from blowing up Coruscant using an ancient appocalypse device originally found by Jango Fett for a "private collector." Zam Wessel lost that race to Jango Fett, but when she learned what the terrorists planned to use it for - to destroy Coruscant's power generators in a huge blast that would destroy the Senate District - she convinced Jango to help her stop them. Bounty Hunters with a hint of morality. They reasonsed it was the right thing to do. Unfortunately they were too late. But they witnessed Yarael Poof dying to stop the blast with the Force. (Jango Fett / Zam Wessel comic books)
TPM - Yaddle - she died trying to stop Obi-Wan and Anakin's main nemesis in the Jedi Quest series books by taking a hit from a missle in order to save everyone else, including The Chosen One. Anakin blames himself and his not following orders for her death - though she chose to sacrafice herself that way. (Jedi Quest Teen Reader Series, Scholastic Books)
AOTC - Coleman Trebor - shot and killed by Jango Fett during the arena rescue of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Geonosis at the start of the Clone Wars. (AOTC - movie)
TPM/ AOTC - Depa Billaba - the former padawan of Mace Windu went insane after a mission to her master's home planet of Harun Kal. There were tribal wars there and country people fought folk. The Clone Wars came to Harun Kal and the City folks made a treaty with Count Dooku and traded for weapons to wipe out the country people (from whom Mace had been born). Terrible things were done and children were killed and people sacraficed and mutilated. Depa took it on herself to go beyond her duty to help the Republic restore peace and went out for revenge for the country people. Her loss of sense between right and wrong and the Dark Side and the Light drove her into a breakdown. She was taken back to the Jedi Temple by Mace to stand trial for war crimes when she was deemed mentally capable. No doubt she was probably killed by Clones while in custody during ROTS. (Shatterpoint, Del Rey Novel)
TPM/AOTC - Adi Gallia - was played by an actress in England for TPM and someone noticeably different and new for AOTC - so she was said to be Adi's cousin, Stass Allie, who also wore the same headpiece  They are Corellian (as is Han, Wedge and others) and Corellians don't wear those headpieces, so why if it's so unique do both ladies have one? Anyway, in ROTS, Stass Allie is killed on a BARC speeder, nothing has been said about Adi Gallia. Jude Watson (Legacy of the Jedi, prior Jedi Quest, Jedi Apprentice series) wrote of Adi Gallia frequently so perhaps she escaped due to the Code being changed (ROTS) and she'll die at Vader's hand post-ROTS. Time will tell. But there's no official account of her death.
TPM/AOTC - Eeth Koth - everything I wrote about Adi Gallia and Stass Allie is true for Eeth Koth and Agen Kolar - except Kolar was killed by Darth Sidious in the Chancellor's office. Eeth Koth may be still at large.
TPM/AOTC Oppo Rancisis - dies in the latest Republic comic - just prior to ROTS - by Sora Bulq (Weequay Jedi who fought in AOTC at Geonosis) who turned to the Dark Side and served Darth Tyranus.
TPM / AOTC - Even Piel I am not sure of. He might also die in the Republic comics prior to ROTS, but I did not read that issue yet. I've been re-reading the entire EU in order and I'm on The Phantom Menace novelization right now.
E3 Council Members:
Yoda - alive
Obi-Wan - alive
Anakin Skywalker - "killed by Darth Vader" - from a certain point of view
Mace - killed by Darth Sidious
Plo Koon - killed by ARC 170 pilots receiving Code 66
Ki-Adi Mundi - killed by Commander Baccera and snow-clones receiving Code 66
Stass Allie - killed by BARC speeder scouts during Order 66
Agen Kolar - killed by Darth Sidious
SaeSee Tiin - killed by Darth Sidious
Kit Fisto - killed by Darth Sidious
Pablo Jill - unknown - I'd guess killed when Darth Vader stormed the Temple
Shaak-Ti - unknown - rumored she was killed by Gen. Grievous or Darth Vader
They certainly accounted for most of the Jedi Council in ROTS though, didn't they?

I'd previously said Adi Gallia was killed by Grievous in Obsession #4, which takes place about five months prior to ROTS. When I picked up #5, it turns out she must have been very lucky, as she was still alive and well. For a few pages, at least. She does, indeed, die at Grievous' hands (in particularly brutal fashion, even for GG) when he crushes her windpipe with two hands and disembowels her with the other two.
I swear in one of the scenes where Anakin is addressing the Jedi Council about becoming a member of the council, in the background is a "Coleman Trebor" type alien sitting in the Council.
I could be wrong, but the last time I watched Ep. 3 (seen it 3 times already); I was specifically looking out for scenes with the Jedi Council to see who the members were. And if I am not mistaken in the scene with Anakin is addressing the Council about becoming a "Master," there was a "Coleman Trebor" type alien among the Council. Then in the Council scene where Anakin is sitting among the Council you can see Pablo Jill. Anyway a still shot of the Jedi Council hologram on Kashyyk would really help.

I think you were seeing the top of Pablo Jill's head. If the shot is framed too high you don't see the two eyes and it does look like the dome of Coleman's head. But we'll see. Further research I need.

It's definitely Pablo Jill and not Coleman Trebor.

To the best of my knowledge the Jedi Council in ROTS is as follows:
1. Mace Windu
2. Yoda
3. Ki-Adi-Mundi
4. Plo Koon
5. Saesee Tinn
6. Shaak Ti
7. Pablo Jill
8. Stass Allie
9. Kit Fisto
10. Agen Kolar
11. Obi-Wan Kenobi
and
12. Anakin Skywalker
11 Jedi Masters and 1 Jedi Knight...very dangerous
There was a Coleman Trebor dude in the Opera Box, is that what you were thinking of ?
