BARCs has bite

Thank you Hasbro for making the speederbikes from Battlestar Galactica's season two (aka Galactica 1980) after waiting for those for 20 years. I was looking at it (the BARC you animals:D ) and the darned thing is cute!!
Again the SW Gamer in me (I'm starting to hate him too) is wondering on the tactical purposes of ANY speeder bike, swoop, or BARC in actual combat. Given that an Imperial police officer or Rebel lookout can cover more ground in any urban enviroment, except Endor (of course). Quicker than by droid, regular camera surveillance, or foot patrol which is advisable to have both, either/or, and if you can afford it all three.
The BARC can only be used as an escort vehicle to draw fire, crowd control and escape of your VIP, like a real police escort (ie. for the Pope, the W, etc.), although again why give a good trooper if you don't have to. That's frustrates me when I play ANY on-line war game. You got some "generals" that exhaust their forces. In real life, even Hussein and Nazis knew better than to send regulars exposed knowing full well about the lack of resources and would send the occasional prisoner to suit up as them and fight in exchange for freedom. The SW toys give me leverage while gaming. that why I don't post anything there YET in this club!

Question, can the wheel on the bottom be folded up into the bike? It looks unrealistic with a giant wheel and rip cord hanging from the back.??

I have been putting off buying these over the last couple of week or so. I want two of them but I am always on the look out for something else to buy. But I will pick them up eventually. But what I want to know before I buy is why is the pack in figure useless? It looks pretty sweet on the bike in all the pictures, doesn't he fit on the bike??

Well, he has like 2 or 3 points of articulation and is made out of a rubbery material, from what I have read. I don't think he looks very good, either. He looks like a repaint of a Speeder Bike Pilot from ROTJ.

It is a repaint! In fact it's the same warrior packed with AT-RT!

Head turns,sholders rotate, and it fits perfectly onn the bike.

The BARC guy is a bootleg GI JOE deserter! And to answer LTB the geniuses at Hasbeen did put an AT-RT trooper in mine...AND I OPENED IT!! I...HOW...:mad:

Well either it was a mistake at Hasbro or you've been had. Sometimes people return things like that but swap the figure before doing so. So if someone wanted an AT-RT with the BARC Trooper but only wanted to spend $10 in the end, that would explain it.

$15, the deluxe boxed vehicles are $15 each. If they were $10, I would have considered the BARC for even half a second - stupid ripcord b.s..
