I went to post a link but the box never popped up to do so. Instead it just went to the top of the page, same thing with quoting. All this in the post reply or add thread options. I am using Mozilla

Might you have your Javascript turned off, or perhaps are using anything other than the Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editor in your profile settings? I'm using Mozilla Firefox right now, but when I was using Mozilla Browser 1.5, it only worked properly with the JS on and the Enhanced Editor rather than the Standard Editor.

I tried it with all editors on and off, Javascript enabled and disabled, and it wouldnt let me do so, I could copy and paste, but the option to shrink the link down is not working for me. I could always just using the codes to do so I guess. Just would take longer.

Hmm, very strange. Please report your system details: type of computer, operating system, and browser make and version.
Also, if the browser is displaying any JS warnings or pop-up blocking systems, report them as well (it shouldn't be though, I just checked by blocking all pop-ups here and the link system still worked for me).

Dell, Win98, Mozilla Firefox Ver. 1.0.2

It has always worked with my pop up blicker on, and I dont get any messages.
Like I said before, I know thew vB codes so I have been typing them out instead. It works just as good.

That's really weird, I'm using the exact same browser, Moz Firefox 1.0.2, and with JavaScript on I am not having any problems. You are trying to do this on the Enhanced Editor usually, yes? And you are saying when you highlight text and then click the "link text" graphic button nothing at all happens? Very strange. Have you run a scan for spyware recently? Spyware would inhibit certain features of a text box like that, though I doubt this would be one of those things it inhibits. Anyway, Monday rolls around and someone more technically-capable than myself is available, make sure to bring this thread up with any added details you can offer.
