Wow Tycho, you sure do have some times on your hands. :) Ok, I'll bite...

100 points = I'm still a virgin:
0 points I lost it but I'm without a girlfriend now so I guess I'm now a reborn virgin. ;)

(one or the other below only):
75 points = I live at home with my parent(s)
90 Points = I live at home with my parent(s) and am over 25 years old
0 points Thankfully no.

(only 1 of the following)
40 points = I collect Star Wars toys (at least 1 of each basic wave)
50 points = I collect multiples of Star Wars basics for army building
60 points = I collect other toy lines besides Star Wars
65 points = I collect Star Wars Galactic Heroes because I think they're cute
60 points I use to collect SW but since the decline of the 12" line I collect non-SW for now.

60 points = most of my friends are people I only know online
0 points Most of my friends are those that I see in the flesh.

40 points = I'm an active video gamer and purchase games about every 3 months or so, possibly more
20 points I'll give myself half credit for this. I'm an active video game player but I don't buy games very often. I play mainly sports type games over and over again.

50 points = I've never played organized sports (chess does not count)
0 points I did through high school so no points for me.

60 points = I don't buy new clothes often because that's money that can be used on toys
30 points I'm giving myself half credit. I definately skimp on buying new clothes but not solely to afford more toys but toys to factor into what some of that saved money does get used for.

40 points = I don't have a gym membership because that's money that can be used on video games or toys
0 points I don't have a gym membership but that has more to do with being completely unmotivated to go somewhere to workout.

30 points = I have no savings plan to purchase my own house one day
30 points I definately don't have a savings plan, I live check to check. Now maybe if I had extra money I might just have a savings plan but that's not going to happen this month.

75 points = I don't date because it's a waste of my video game and toy money, spending it on someone else versus me, me, me
0 points I'm once again new to the dating thing after being 6 years out of the game. Any future dating will not be taking a back seat to games or toys. Women are much more fun to curl up with than a small plastic man.

50 points = I won't go to college because instead of spending money on classes, I can get more toys and video games which I'd rather be doing (you can't have these points if you already have a degree)
0 points College grad already.

(Choose only one: )
65 points = I go out hunting toys from store to store on a crusade to find new figures
75 points = I do this starting at 6 or 7 o'clock in the morning to make sure I get my toys!
65 points I haven't done it in a few months but I have gone on many toy crusades and even dragged a few poor souls with me from time to time.

80 points = I specifically collect female action figures, even from lines I don't regularly collect
0 points I haven't collected anything specifically because it's a female character.

(choose only 1):

60 points = I have over 1000 posts here at SSG and I post on other sites as well
50 points = I have over 1000 posts here at SirSteves and I lurk here too much of my time.
40 points = I have something in the hundreds for numbers of posts here at SSG
60 points Over 1000 posts here as well as other forums as well but they aren't SW related.

50 points = I have tried online dating and made profile for my one true love to find me with
25 points I'll give myself half credit for this one as well. I haven't done online dating yet but if these next few months don't turn up any female leads I'm definately giving this a shot.

75 points = my toys are displayed all over my entire home
75 points Oh yeah, and it's a total chick magnet right?

Total 365 Points Not really that geeky I guess but I'll have to see how I stack up against other forumites. :D

Hmmm... only two that really qualifies for me:
90 Points = I live at home with my parent(s) and am over 25 years old
40 points = I have something in the hundreds for numbers of posts here at SSG - but I do have over 1,000 on another forum (non-SW)

(only 1 of the following)
40 points = I collect Star Wars toys (at least 1 of each basic wave)
60 points = I collect other toy lines besides Star Wars
65 points = I collect Star Wars Galactic Heroes because I think they're cuteThese ones are sorta's, because I only buy the figures that I like, but I wouldn't call it collecting.

75 points = my toys are displayed all over my entire homeDoes my room count, even for partial points?

So I guess I have only 130 points (unless the ones above apply in some way).
And I thought I was a bigger geek than that...

100 points = I'm still a virgin:

Yes... every time is just like the very first time.

(one or the other below only):
75 points = I live at home with my parent(s)
90 Points = I live at home with my parent(s) and am over 25 years old

I live in the crawlspace above YOUR parents!

Actually, it's all been a lie, I don't own one Star Wars toy.

60 points = most of my friends are people I only know online

Like my friend who's the son of a wealthy African diplomat, who simply needs access to my bank account so that he can transfer his father's millions to safety.

40 points = I'm an active video gamer and purchase games about every 3 months or so, possibly more

I have one game... Dig Dug... and that's all I need.

50 points = I've never played organized sports (chess does not count)

Wait... do blood sports count?

60 points = I don't buy new clothes often because that's money that can be used on toys

My jaybird lifestyle works really well with my wanting to spend all of my money on toys.

40 points = I don't have a gym membership because that's money that can be used on video games or toys

Seriously, gym's smell.

30 points = I have no savings plan to purchase my own house one day

This is true, but I find that living in the dumpster behind ToysRus works pretty well.

75 points = I don't date because it's a waste of my video game and toy money, spending it on someone else versus me, me, me

Now you're talkin'!!!

50 points = I won't go to college because instead of spending money on classes, I can get more toys and video games which I'd rather be doing (you can't have these points if you already have a degree)

College is for squares! Did the guy that invented the twist ties that hold my figures in place go to college? NO!

(Choose only one: )
65 points = I go out hunting toys from store to store on a crusade to find new figures
75 points = I do this starting at 6 or 7 o'clock in the morning to make sure I get my toys!

Hunting? Yes... please see "blood sports" comment.

80 points = I specifically collect female action figures, even from lines I don't regularly collect

Define "female."

(choose only 1):
60 points = I have over 1000 posts here at SSG and I post on other sites as well
50 points = I have over 1000 posts here at SirSteves and I lurk here too much of my time.
40 points = I have something in the hundreds for numbers of posts here at SSG

All of my posts have actually been made by my evil twin brother who got hold of my password. I've never been here before now.

50 points = I have tried online dating and made profile for my one true love to find me with

Do fake prank profiles count? I once dated this guy named "Deadeye" while I was pretending to be Natalie Portman.

75 points = my toys are displayed all over my entire home

Yes. My TRU dumpster is pretty well decorated.

Meanwhile, add up your score and see how close to 1000 you get.

I added it all up on my calculator, and some how the answer I got is "Doctor Who" -- gee, I must really be a geek.

60 points = most of my friends are people I only know online

60 points = I don't buy new clothes often because that's money that can be used on toys
Haven't willingly purchased a new shirt in years

40 points = I don't have a gym membership because that's money that can be used on video games or toys

30 points = I have no savings plan to purchase my own house one day

75 points = I do this starting at 6 or 7 o'clock in the morning to make sure I get my toys!

60 points = I have over 1000 posts here at SSG and I post on other sites as well
Extra points for being a mod, Tycho? ;)

75 points = my toys are displayed all over my entire home
Once again, guilty....even here at my college house i got them up!

My score is 575. My score would be higher but i'm not a virgin, i played oodles of sports as a lad and i don't date as i don't think i'm appealing to many ladies. lol cheers! :D

This thread is getting funny! PlasticFetish, you had me nearly in stitches (do people really still use that expression, or just geeks that watch old westerns?)

Meanwhile, Lord Malakite, you are running strong to win as King and Lord over all the geeks and nerds. But I think we better check if you are old enough. We may have to deduct points for understandable circumstances.

LM: Age verification please.

Meanwhile, JediMasterGuyute, you miscalculated:

You get one or the other....

-40 for collecting SW, 1 of each wave. You got 60 for also doing other toylines

Your free gym membership won't discount you 40 more points as long as you remain out-of-shape and don't use it versus the extra time that you could spend playing with video games or toys.

It's possible you can get extra points for being a moderator on this site - that takes extra geek-time. We'll have to see what the consensus around here is. But if you get Mod points, so should Lord Malakite, our current Uber-Geek.

Meanwhile, I was thinking about bonus points if you SNIFF YOUR NEW ACTION FIGURES. The qualifyer is that you have to be registered with the Mouse Droid Sniffers' Association and I verify it in that thread so we know that you've been a member for over a year already. Short-snorters don't get ....well, OK, short-snorters might as well get 3/4 of the points as real addicts do because it's a great aspect of the hobby I'm trying to encourage.
:crazed:

Anyway, Lord Malakite, Your Holy-Geekiness, your score has been revised to 750 from 790.

I'll entertain how many points Mouse Droid Sniffers should receive now.

I'd say 60 points if you are a registered Snort here.
40 points if you are a Short-Snorter?

This would actually allow for someone to break 1000 points to become Supreme Uber-Geek!

Beast

*Pokes his nose into the thread. Peers at Malakite's score*

"You call that high? Heh. Riiiiiiight.
And Tycho, you didn't give bonus points for people over 10,000 posts? Tsk." ;)

*JJB scurries back out, just chuckling to himself.*

11-11-2004, 01:08 PM
You know, one day we're going to find out that JarJarBinks is really Brad Pitt just hanging out here pretending to be a geek. (I've got your number man.)

Tycho
11-11-2004, 02:09 PM
JarJar's scary since he alluded that Lord Malakite's 750 is lowballing it for a true Uber-Geek. It could be interpretted to imply that JarJar could score higher himself. However, his historic position he takes on covering himself from providing any personal information whatsoever, makes it unlikely that he'll disclose information that he finds embarassing for himself. This could mean that he's the true Uber-Geek considering what points are left to claim in order to beat 750 (or even attain that many points in the first place!)

Lord Malakite probably has an age defense.

JarJar is in his later 20's, as far as I've learned. Seniority definitely adds points to geekiness.

James Boba Fettfield

100 points = I'm still a virgin:

A gentleman doesn't discuss such things, but I'm married, so it's pretty easy to figure out.

(one or the other below only):
75 points = I live at home with my parent(s)
90 Points = I live at home with my parent(s) and am over 25 years old

Not anymore, thank God.

My total comes to 65 so far. Even Vader's cute. :)

60 points = most of my friends are people I only know online

Slightly less than half, so no points.

40 points = I'm an active video gamer and purchase games about every 3 months or so, possibly more

I'm not one of these hardcore folks who never leaves the console, but I play (and buy) frequently enough to get 40 more.

50 points = I've never played organized sports (chess does not count)

That would be me. Sports yes, organized no. Grand total 155.

60 points = I don't buy new clothes often because that's money that can be used on toys

Kinda sort yeah. 215.

40 points = I don't have a gym membership because that's money that can be used on video games or toys

Not really a money thing, so I shouldn't count it.

30 points = I have no savings plan to purchase my own house one day

Not me.

75 points = I don't date because it's a waste of my video game and toy money, spending it on someone else versus me, me, me

I don't date, since my wife would whomp me upside the head with a folding chair.

50 points = I won't go to college because instead of spending money on classes, I can get more toys and video games which I'd rather be doing (you can't have these points if you already have a degree)

My degree in English qualifies me to wait tables anywhere! :crazed:

(Choose only one: )
65 points = I go out hunting toys from store to store on a crusade to find new figures
75 points = I do this starting at 6 or 7 o'clock in the morning to make sure I get my toys!

I hunt frequently, and often stop at WM on the way to work around 7, so I'll count the 75. I'm at 290.

80 points = I specifically collect female action figures, even from lines I don't regularly collect

Nope

(choose only 1):

60 points = I have over 1000 posts here at SSG and I post on other sites as well
50 points = I have over 1000 posts here at SirSteves and I lurk here too much of my time.
40 points = I have something in the hundreds for numbers of posts here at SSG

I won't justify bringing the total to 350.

50 points = I have tried online dating and made profile for my one true love to find me with

I'll do as KH did, since I have never tried it but met my wife online. 375.

75 points = my toys are displayed all over my entire home

Um, not meaning "on the kitchen counter," I'll assume. :p 450 total, unless Senatorial status adds some points. Or going on random tangents about bears for weeks or months at a time.

Man, I'm a geek. :Pirate:

As JBF said, I'm 22 years old. :) I'd also agree with JBF's comment about my wierdness. Anyone who has ever talked to me in AIM, or god forbid, actually met me in person (Guyute and JBF ;)) could tell you that. If you would like me to elaborate I can. Or you could get in contact me through any instant messenger (I registered for all of them because I was bored :D).You might wish I hadn't though.

Add 40 points for if you are a Short-Snorter
I'm not obsessed with sniffing as you Tycho, but I do sniff certain figures from time to time. I also sniff new video game stuff. The sweet smell of Instruction Booklets and brand new controllers, how I miss you.

This one could be a partial: (50 points = I have tried online dating and made profile for my one true love to find me with). I did join an online dating thing (OU BobCats something or another). I didn't count it though because I didn't join it for the same reason you listed. I joined it out of curiosity just to see what kind of people actually signed up for it. I probably wouldn't have even done that if they didn't keep spamming my college e-mail address.

And if you award Mods with points you better give me those.

Unless my math is off that would make my total 415. But I must add a few disclaimers. First off I don't have a gym membership because on base we have a free gym that is actually quite good and the college one is because you the lovely tax payer is paying for that through the Montgomery GI Bill. I pay in $1,000 and get back $40,000. Suckers.

40 points = I don't have a gym membership because that's money that can be used on video games or toys
Again the same.

30 points = I have no savings plan to purchase my own house one day
False

75 points = I don't date because it's a waste of my video game and toy money, spending it on someone else versus me, me, me
I don't date much because I'm very shy and its hard for me to meet people.

50 points = I won't go to college because instead of spending money on classes, I can get more toys and video games which I'd rather be doing (you can't have these points if you already have a degree)
I should be lossing points on this one, I'm in grad school. For those that don't know, that's college for folks with college degrees.

65 points = I go out hunting toys from store to store on a crusade to find new figures
When I was collecting it was very rare for me to hit more than one store on any given day. So no.

80 points = I specifically collect female action figures, even from lines I don't regularly collect
Nope.

40 points = I have something in the hundreds for numbers of posts here at SSG
I've got to take this one with 700 plus to my name.

50 points = I have tried online dating and made profile for my one true love to find me with
I've filled out a profile before as a joke, but have never really tried online dating.

75 points = my toys are displayed all over my entire home
Legos in the basement don't count.

That's see, if I did the math right I get 245. Not bad, but not to good either.

Well I didn't have time to put much thought into many extra points for people, but I came up with this:

+100 points if you've already reserved a hotel and bought your tickets to Celebration 3 so you can come and hang out with the rest of us geeks in Indianapolis in 2005!

Intent is not enough. A real geek would already have his tickets!
