Chewie's Medal

Hey All,
I need someone to tell me I'm not crazy. I vividly remember seeing Star Wars as a child and Leia had a medal for Chewie, but handed it to Han because she was too short to reach his neck. I've only found one other person who remembers this scene. They told me it was included in the film during it's original run on HBO. Can anyone else confirm this?

Very interesting, I remember though in the theatre when ROTJ first was out that the Rancor Keeper walked away crying, "Oh MY BABY, My BABY" A friend of mine confirmed this because his uncle that ran a movie theatre held on to all 3 movies reels. Every once in a while he breaks them out and gives his own private showing. We heard that Lucas had cut it because he believed it gave sympathy to the bad guys.:rolleyes:

Chewie didn't get his medal until the MTV movie awards a few years back. A shame they didn't include that segment on the DVD's, even as an Easter egg.

I TOTALLY agree. I still consider that one of the best moments ever on MTV
