I started to make my list, but you know what. Just make all the OT listed and I'd be the happiest man alive. The top of my list is All Endor, cantina, Jabba's Palace and Droids figures.

Kidhuman really needs your Top 50 lists guys.

Here's why.

Over the course of 4 months, thereabouts, anywhere between 12 and 20 of us went through every scene in the Star Wars movies frame by frame and voted on every character who did not yet have an action figure.

We determined that the list Kidhuman posted above (of around 200 figures) was all that remained on screen in the 5 movies that hasn't been made yet.

Hasbro makes 50 figures a year on average. That means that if they made never-before-produced figures straight, with almost no resculpts for 4 years, THIS HOBBY WOULD BE OVER. (Revenge of the Sith will stretch it out for 2 more years, as the average new movie generates 100 figures).

Well, as you can tell by the list above, not every figure is a total winner.

Through that 4 month process these figures were selected by the participants as the 50 most demanded (click here) (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?p=346358#post346358)

We are trying to compare that list with the results Kidhuman gets here by instead of having people vote in tournament style polling over the course of months that require people to visit the site and vote twice a day, to just list 50 figures from the choices above, that you want the most.

In case you all wonder why I voted the way I did, I voted in order to supply
the scenes I create with my figures the characters that they can't do without: a heavy supply of Padme should be obvious, as 1/5 of all my list is her. But she's the leading lady and one of the big 3 main characters, only she just changes wardrobes every frame. The Queen Theed Ceremony (white dress) figure recently shown came out awesome. I have no doubt that these figures that are "scene completers" would be equally as impressive.

My dioramas can be seen here (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=24984) starting with pictures of the small ones from the prequel era and expanding to the large ones including my Custom Rebel Blockade Runner amongst my large Classic battle scenes.

My Top 50 figure list carefully prioritizes the characters I need most to complete each scene by order of importance to my displays.

KH, before you get going, can you add some people to the list of nominees? I worry that write-ins won't get the full attention of those just skimming your list rather than reading everyone elses' votes. Ideally, anyone's write-ins would be added to your nominee list.

From the Tycho list, I could not find R5-D4 resculpt, M'iiyoom Onith (the Nightlilly), or Reegesk (the Ranat). Since we are trying to verify Tycho's results, I think it is critical that everyone on that top fifty list be on the list of nominees. Hopefully anyone who has voted already will amend their lists if necessary to consider these choices.

Also, I would request that Garouf Lafoe, the snitch from the cantina; Melas, the Special Edition pipe smoking cantina lizard; and the Naboo clergyman who married Anakin and Padme be added to the list.

Like I said, I vote strictly for what I need for my dioramas.

Padme is a main character. She is in most of all the scenes.

I buy 20-30 Anakin's and Obi-Wans to create my scenes (see the link above to show and tell what I do with all of them).

But Padme changes outfits in every scene. So instead of buying 20-30 of the same figure of Padme, I require all her 20 other outifts to be accurate with my dioramas.

Since I've always done dioramas this way (a lot of Chewie figures, but some wardrobe changes for Luke, Han, Leia, and Lando so it isn't too extreme with just one outfit like the Jedi robes) I thought to myself "oh no!" when I saw what Lucas had in store for Padme's wardrobe changes.

Some of these figures, like especially her yellow dress by the waterfalls, would look incredible as a figure (like a sculpture the way Padme White Theed Celebration Gown came out). Her nightgown outfit and the backless dress from their first kiss, as well as her Senator figure have this potential. Black Leather Temptation will probably not be all that, and Hasbro will tame down the cleavage unless they trump it up to popularize the figure moreso. Who knows?

But it has little to do with being obsessed over Natalie Portman. I'm in love with Kristin Kruek from Smallville! (and Jennifer Love Hewitt, too).

I understand, but so long as you're aware, I think the methodology is flawed. For example, I initially just took entire groups of figures that I wanted to see, such as all the Podracers and all the Amidala versions and put them on the list in no particular order. They pretty much stayed that way too as I don't really have a preference for one Podrace alien over another...but that's what your scoring system assumes. I want to see ALL the Podracers and ALL the Amidala versions...but the ranking system assumes that I have preference of one over another.

The hard part is saying I really want any of these figures any worse than the others. To me, itt's like my list of stuff I need, you know? You just want all of it. Gaahhhh! I understand, but so long as you're aware, I think the methodology is flawed. For example, I initially just took entire groups of figures that I wanted to see, such as all the Podracers and all the Amidala versions and put them on the list in no particular order. They pretty much stayed that way too as I don't really have a preference for one Podrace alien over another...but that's what your scoring system assumes. I want to see ALL the Podracers and ALL the Amidala versions...but the ranking system assumes that I have preference of one over another. This was one of my chief concerns as well, but it's still every user weeding out 50 figures from 200+ which is a good start. If you only put the top 10 in order but you complete all 50 in some sort of order like you did with the blocks, you've given them a better chance than no order at all. But I agree, I can't really choose between some of these, so I'm going to do those in blocks like you have.


KH, I'm kinda surprised to see the inclusion of the Deluxe-level figures from the earlier poll, especially since several are representing also as Basics but you don't say which one is which (I know because I was there and the descrips make it a little clearer).

I hope this list includes all the write-ins, but I fear not from having gone through it once already.

I saved all the entries from my list but it took 2 passes just to cull 50 figures, I was a little short the first time through. I'll arrange them in some sort of order by the end of the week and then post that.

Stillakid, I want to see every figure on the list, but some alot more than others. I know limiting it to 50 is hard and all, but at least we can hand this list to Hasbro through Tycho's contacts and let them know this is what the fans want.

I could probably fit almost all the figures you have on the master list on a "wanted list" if they could instead be grouped instead of individually listed. For example, to create a really good Cantina setup, it makes far more sense to ask Hasbro for "all the aliens in there" than to waste votes for each individual character. The same goes for Jabba's Palace and his gang, for Amidala (who wouldn't want all of her looks?), and for the varieties of Imperial and Rebel officers. It seems silly to say that I want Needa but not some other Imperial officer, but I have to leave one of them off just because I'm limited to 50. So the voting process seems to have more credibility if we voted for "scenes" or "diorama groups" or something more "usable."

Stillakid, in my scene-by-scene poll we did it by scene obviously.

Certain figures (like Hem Dazon in the cantina poll) shut out all the others, so there was real preferences going on.

I then did challenge polls to let the other cantina members on the list. 10 of them did so. With Jabba's, we picked up a couple more that didn't make the list initially.

I think I achieved correcting for what you were complaining about in my poll.

Kidhuman's method should get repeatedly demanded figures on the list regardless of ranking, like JediTricks said, because we'll see who's consistantly the most popular.

As to what Hasbro will and won't make? Well they have the license to 2018 and usually do 50 figures a year. If they only have 200 figures to go (with no resculpts / repacks) they'd expire the line in 4 years finishing all possible figures by 2008 (save for the fact that we'll get 2 extra years of figures out of Revenge of the Sith).

So just because we show Hasbro who the 50 most demanded are, doesn't mean all of them won't get made.

Just remember, on the list of 211 are these:

We were ridiculously complete as we could be.

We found that out of the 211+ that we surveyed, about half of those got strong voting support. Narrowing it down to 50 forced us to identify the cream of the crop.

After those 50 get made, and by 2008, we can be demanding the various ladies from Club Outlander by name because all that is left to produce will be resculpts:

Anakin angry.
Anakin a little angrier.
Anakin Not Angry.
Anakin not decided whether or not he's angry.
Obi-Wan confused if Anakin is angry. etc.

The alternative is that we get less and less new SW figures per year in 2007 and thereafter.

Instead of 3-5 new figures a month for 40-50 new figures a year, we'll get 3 figures (4 per case and then bad cases assortments with repacks later) about every other month: or 18-20 figures per year.

Remembering that there are now about 20 main characters that Hasbro has to keep releasing in some version to sell the line to new people to replace anyone that's quit (with a new child or adult that decides to start), there isn't a whole lot of room for new characters like Herme Odle if we don't get him now, in the next 4 years.

So I bet you that by 2010 or so, Hasbro "reinvents Star Wars figures" and CHANGES THE SIZE to be more about the size of the Unleashed line, only articulated.

By then the 3 3/4" should be all but complete.

The only other way to keep the 3 3/4" going is to do Expanded Universe figures - including some from the possible TV show.

If they hit the books as myself and other EU fans would like, they're in danger of waiting so long that the mass market has forgotten the Yuuzhan Vong and the rest of the non-reading group would not be the slightest bit interested.

So I think we'd better take the list seriously and work towards letting Hasbro know what our Top 50 we want done should be.

The problem with grouping is I might have a different idea of what all cantina figures means. For instance in the last thread we had two fans (I'm sorry I don't have the drive to research who) that debated the need for Dice, the Lamproid. One thought it was needed so you could sit it accross from Lak Sivrak the other thought it was a cheap sock puppet and would be a waste of plastic. I'm sure even less of you would want the moisture farmer in white, but he could also be grouped in with the unmade cantina figures. As far as worrying about let Hasbro know that we want more than the fifty on this list don't worry. If they do take this list seriously and make 15-25 off it next year (with the release of E3 I doubt we will see more than 10 non E3 figures anyway) then if sure we can make another. :D

Here's my list. I culled 50 figures from the master list (49 plus a write-in of R5-D4) and then tried to gauge who I thought I'd want the most. Of course, eventually it did come down to the problem of wanting 2 figures equally or finding a bunch of figures all equally-weak, but I decided to throw down a list through sheer speed, bulldoze through it and then come back and see if anybody needs moving way up the list or anything. It's not an exact science, I didn't give most of them THAT much thought beyond "yeah, I might buy that" so the lower down ones are just in order of the list (which means chapter number, oh well), but hopefully the higher up support I gave will have some affect...

Nothing off these lists we are making can even be touched until 2006 due to the time it takes Hasbro to roll out figures.

2005 will be consumed with Episode 3 product, and 2006 will catch up with E3 product that didn't make it during the initial movie year.

If anything, we are getting these lists done just in time for Hasbro to look at them for 2006.

There is always the possibility that Hasbro has plans to do figures on our lists already (like Hem Dazon the Arcona and General Veers are rumored). Our list and the fact that on my poll they ranked #1 and # 2 respectively will still have nothing to do with Hasbro making them. They're obvious choices and no-brainers for Hasbro. (Hem Dazon won the Star Wars Insider "next exclusive Cantina figure" some years back but was never produced. If I remember, I'm sure Hasbro remembered.)

Furthermore, most figures have been carded one way or another. The AT-AT Commander was only issued as a pack-in but is a natural since he was carded in the past. Doing a great General Veers with snap-on Hoth accessories that the modern toy-making process allows for is the logical way to go now as the "old" modern AT-AT Commander does not approach the quality of figures today (with removeable helmets, etc.)

That being said, if you see anything off our final lists in 2005, it was planned already. But do not let me discourage you from voting for Hem and Veers. Show them that we do want these figures!

Stillakid, basically if we get a top 50 from people, we can probably all agree on 1/2 of them. The other half will be seperated by a few votes.(points) It is a start. When those 50 get made, then we can work on the next 50. I will rank all of the points, but 1-50 is the main focus. Just because you(for instance) were the only vote for Padme in a Reebok Jumpsuit, I would still jot it down and pass it along. Just because it is not unanimous, doesnt mean it should not get made. It is gll about listing priority one figures we want made. If we can get a group to agree on certain figures and Hasbro looks at it, we stand a better chance of them getting made. Remember, once it is in motion, you can not stop foward progress. :beard:

JT, why not make some Ultras. Would you buy a torture Rack Han without the Rack? I wouldnt. Plus I just plain old missed them when going over the list. :D

I dunno KH, there isn't a real reason except that some are double-representing as both deluxe and basics. Plus, the division that makes the Deluxes is pretty crappy compared to the Basics. But honestly, I just found it very surprising, I dunno why really.

I still maintain that Han Torture could be done with rack as a Basic, he doesn't need a lot of articulation, and look at how much accessory junk Danyl Faytoni, Ack Med Beq, Obi-Wan Outlander, Elan Outlander, Jimmy Smits ;), and Luke Bespin Saga come with.

Like everyone else, there's others I want, but this is my actual top 50. For curiosity's sake, my 51st was the LN-V8K droid - the half dome from the sandcrawler. I almost cut the Luke, Leia, Lando set from the end of TESB and the Han, Bespin Torture, simply because, as primary characters we're likely to get them anyway. This is why no other versions of the principal male characters made the list. Except for Hobbie, I had no preference for other pilots (even though I'd love to have more), which meant to me that they shouldn't make the list. Ditto for other astromech droids beyond R2-X2, who has held the same position on my list since I formed one.

While I did Ultras in my poll, I kept them separate from the Top 50 list.

We came out with 5-8 Most-Wanted Ultras, top choices being Palpatine on his Chancellor Platform for the preuels, and obviously Han Solo Bespin Torture (by miles) for the Sequels.

But when you compare your Top 50 list to the one produced in my poll, you're going to possibly have the Ultras skewing it. It's too early to tell for sure though. But no Ultras were used in comprising my Top 50 List.

That's fine if you separate them now, but for those who voted for Ultras, to be fair you'd have to give each individual that many more basic figure votes, shouldn't you?

And JediTricks made a good point. Han Bespin Torture (and others) appear twice. I'd just count all the votes for the figure as if it were for one figure, not split them up I suppose. However, there's no way that Gardulla the Hutt could be a basic figure!

See with Han in my poll I'd only listed Han as an Ultra, but JT wrote him in as a regular basic figure I believe. And Han stuck and succeeded in making quite a staying for himself as a basic figure too. That's cool I guess. But Gardulla?

On a tangent, I'd have Han come with 2 heads like Luke Dagobah recently did: one screaming, the other not (so folks could use this as a regular Han figure if they wanted to).

The stories suck. The production design is as good as always (in most cases). The toys represent the production design, whereas the novels represent the stories, which is why I haven't read them.

Also, anyone can write anyone as candidate on a ballot at election time, but good luck having them win if they aren't on the ballot.

Part of this is trying to verify the accuracy of your list. That is difficult to do if all of your Top Fifty aren't in the list of published choices.

Droid, I included M'iiyoom in my list. I've generally only been keeping a top ten list for myself, but I've had a more general list of unmade characters I wanted to see made, and used that as a guide more than anything.

Tycho, I agree that the deluxe figures should be seperate, but since that wasn't given as an option I incorporated them into my list. If the decision is made to pull them from the basic list, I hope that kidhuman or dindae will let us know so that we can adjust our lists.

Adjustment should not pose much of a problem. In my case, I think I included three, Gardulla, Nute Gunray w/spider chair, and Bespin Torture Han. I would simply pull those three from the list, move everyone up, and tag on three characters to the bottom of the list. Obviously I won't be inserting characters into their places, otherwise those new characters would already be on the list.

At this point I don't see the few deluxe figures that are on the list being a big factor (not looking at the numbers right now going on memory). Droid, I took Tycho's list basically after he wrapped up the voting in the first portion of his poll. The write ins came later on in the poll. If you know who you want write them in, hence the name "WRITE-IN VOTE" I took the original 211 figures and then these were added gafter 6 dropped off for being mgade already. If they were on the master list, they would not be called write ins.

Deluxe figures are OK. I want a Han Torture rack and Gardulla. Torryn Farr could swing either way with the display screen. Deluxe figutres are still figures, it just depends on how big the accessories are. That is what makes them Deluxe or basic.

Voting will close sometime between 9/03 agnd 9/05 of this year. I might extend it a tad bit out for those who will be going away for the Labor Day weekend if they ask for it. Also alot of people might be heading to college as well and have to set everything up.

I also asked SirSteve to list his top 50. I hope he does because I would like to hear from him on this list. SHould be interesting to see what the Boss man wants coughed up from Hasbro.

I have an idea, I suggest we move this thread to the OTC section where it will get more views. Saga is a dead zone because the line is over. I can alter the opening post to extend the deadline a few days if you want KH.


While I did Ultras in my poll, I kept them separate from the Top 50 list. We came out with 5-8 Most-Wanted Ultras, top choices being Palpatine on his Chancellor Platform for the preuels, and obviously Han Solo Bespin Torture (by miles) for the Sequels. But when you compare your Top 50 list to the one produced in my poll, you're going to possibly have the Ultras skewing it. It's too early to tell for sure though. But no Ultras were used in comprising my Top 50 List. That's fine if you separate them now, but for those who voted for Ultras, to be fair you'd have to give each individual that many more basic figure votes, shouldn't you?Well, since one of the Fans Choice figures was done as a Deluxe, I think it's not unfair to include them in this top list. It's merely different, that's all. Plus, they're still unmade figures (or desparate for a new design) so that is all the validity they really need I think, nobody ever said this would be a "basics only" that I know of.

And JediTricks made a good point. Han Bespin Torture (and others) appear twice. I'd just count all the votes for the figure as if it were for one figure, not split them up I suppose. That's a good point about splitting the votes between the same concept that I hadn't really considered. I found that a whopping 7 of the Ultras were also here as basics: Han Torture, chancellor Palpatine in red, Padme backless, Padme Nightgown, Jango no-armor, Torynn Far (whom is spelled "Farr" in the second listing), and the Ugnaught.


I still don't understand why the write-ins aren't being added into the master list. If they aren't there people aren't going to consider them choices or may not think of them. I wholeheartedly agree with this.

DROID, they don't need to be on the masterlist. It's a pain in the butt for Kidhuman to edit that after 24 hours anyway. I can easily edit it for him each day (or so) if he just tells me which ones to add, I'd be happy to help really.

If they can't think of it and come up with 50 names anyway, then whatever they couldn't think of shouldn't be in that person's Top 50 anyway. I don't think I understand Tycho, but I barely scraped together 51 options, a few were as close to LLTA votes as I was willing to get here. UPDATE: ok, I get what you're saying, but I don't agree. Sometimes they're so esoteric that you just don't think of these guys until someone mentions their name, and then it's like "oh, yeah, I'd want him way more than the bottom third of this list!"


If we compare and agree on whatever differences and corrections should be made to the 2 lists to get them in the best agreement with each other possible, I still think JediTricks should publish a final list and with it this poll:
1) This list is exactly what I want
2) This list is mostly what I want
3) Only half this list represents figures I want
4) I don't like most of the figures on this list
5) I don't like ANY of the figures on this list
JediTricks, you'll have to watch the wording on choice 3 as "This list is only half of what I want" does not befit the question, since of course there are 50 figures and most of us want 100 to 200 more.Interesting idea, will see how things go. My hands are tied on doing the official poll the way I wanted for now, so this would be an interesting option (although I suspect nobody will vote above 50%).


I also asked SirSteve to list his top 50. I hope he does because I would like to hear from him on this list. Hee hee, I bet he doesn't know who 50 of these guys are. :D He's really not good with these background aliens, especially when they get EU names. I wouldn't be surprised if he just does like a top 15 and then says he'd be happy with anything else, he's really easy-going about such things.

on your list, you listed the Tonnika sister twice. It is for one or the other, we can't do both. If you could please do one of the following,

2. Re-write the list for 50 poeple
or
3. I could just give them 50 points and skip the 2nd place vote.(49 points)

I'm trying to keep this honest, and really tried to rank it in order of what I want most. LN-V8K was #51, and putting it at #2, wouldn't be truthful.

Okay, after much deliberation, I was able to rank my fifty. I don't have time at the moment to post 'em, but they will be here tomorrow.

Two questions: first, skimming over the posts, I'm unclear on the write-in policy. I'd love to see Chief Bast and the super-tall Jawa (who I'll assume was named Wimateeka unless told otherwise). Is it okay to add 'em (even though they'd have no chance if it's only me voting for them)?

Second, can the Gungan Woman and Gungan Child be combined into a two-pack if I'm willing to accept saltshakers or statues on both? My thoughts are that every non-major child character (clone boy, Tuskling, etc) has been packed in with someone else, and there's no way in [that place Owen will see Luke if the chores aren't done] that Hasbro would make 'em both separately.

Hmm, I had never considered EU figs on these lists because originally it was culled from a list of figures from each scene in the films. I personally would have been tempted to add a few EU figs to my list, but my better judgement says no because of that "movies" factor and the poor treatment the EU gets from Hasbro.

I think the EU should be given it's on list in a seperate poll, since this was set up in reaction to Tycho's poll which was limited to the movies.

So, now that we know that the Rabé figure being offered is indeed the handmaiden in the orange robes that is on many of our lists, how does that affect this poll?

I'm saying leave her on the poll. She's counted on my list from my Scene-By-Scene thread in the saga forum - plus we need to see a headshot to make sure Rabe can substitute for Padme Handmaiden for sure, or if we need a different head sculpt or something.

As to Expanded Universe? Take them off and don't count them Kidhuman. That's what I'd do if it were up to me, since the lists won't match if we include them. I think your intentions for this poll was for movie characters.


I am all for more EU figures from the comics and books, especially New Jedi Order and Republic, but we can come back and do that separately, as we have no indication Hasbro wants to do that at all at this time.

Meanwhile, Biggs Darklighter Academy Uniform is the closest we come to EU, however that shot was actually FILMED for a movie, and Ewoks Caravan of Courage or the Droids Cartoon was not, nor was the Holiday Special.

So that sort of settles that - but only by my opinion. It's Kidhuman's and Dindae's choice.

I will have to check the votes but I don't believe any eu figure has gotten enough votes to get into the top fifty. If there was one or two that people wanted enough I wouldn't mind them being on the list, but I don't think there is that much support out there.

As far as the Padme Handmaiden issue. I see three possibilities

1. Leave the votes as they are and if she ranks so be it.
2. Tally the votes then remove her.
3. Have those who want take her out of their list and a new figure to the bottom of their list.

While I am leaning towards the last option for accuracy of the poll, I will defer to Kidhuman since the math involved takes time and might not make a difference in final rankings.

If someone can give me the name of an Ewok who's not already on my list, I'll gladly replace Guri with him/her, as I don't want to start a bitter debate as to whether EU characters should be counted or not. I doubt anyone else would vote for her anyway, no matter how lonely the Prince Xizor figures of the world are.

Leave the EU characters on. C'mon, you could leave a lot to interpretation of what's EU and what's not. What about Flashback Anakin from POTF2? He comes with a lightsaber and is not "holographic", and that's not in the movies, so basically that's EU (according to Tycho). The same can be said about "Cold Weather Obi Wan" from POTJ. And there are many more. I say put all 3 3/4 in there, they all deserve it and are all part of the "SW Universe" whether you are a fan or not.
