Official Title Announced: Revenge of the Sith!

Okay, since it's no longer a spoiler, we can talk about the title in here. Revenge of the Sith, hmmmmmm, interesting (and largely predicted) - all well and good. There's just one thing..... what the heck do they need Revenge for? Maul's death? Something we don't know about yet? I'm not a huge fan of what I've seen of the packaging for figures, but I'm happy about the lava (if I'm reading into it correctly) and the official site had a pretty neat pic of Anakin up this morning - but I'll leave that right there.

So "ROTS" it will be, forever more. What do you think?

I think it's safe to assume, it goes back a long ways. There's been some explained about it in the novels and the Behind the Scenes books. Hopefully it's explained fairly well by Darth Sidious when he reveals himself. :)

No, Mr. PD, that's not what we think. JJB was just quoting one of Maul's 2 lines from TPM that pertains to the subject. He won't come back to life, but his desire to get revenge on the Jedi (for what, we can only speculate - likely the near-destruction of their entire order long before the PT time frame at the hands of historical Jedi Knights) will be fulfilled. There's also a mini write up of the plot outline posted on the official site, which I hadn't read until yesterday either. I'm spoiler free except for that paragraph and the cool pic of Anakin.

Whatever happens, I still feel that this chapter - moreso than either of the first two - has the potential to be as moody and intense as ESB... I'm really, really hoping it pans out much the same. :)

you commented about the packaging JJ. I'm not exactly thrilled with it myself. It looks a bit like POTF2, with some flames / lava added. They have this great OTC packaging, why not keep the same style, and make it like they did for Empire and ROTJ? (with the silver SW around the square movie logo)

As the title goes, it's not terribly imaginative but it's also my least-unfavorite (heh heh ;)) of the prequels. I kinda wish it wasn't the 3rd film that had the title though, it's too much of a parallel to the original trilogy's title system, as well as a repeat of the "blank of the blank" thing we got with Ep 2. But it does go back to Maul's statement of wanting revenge on the Jedi for ousting the Sith a millenia before (and possibly the galaxy that allowed this to happen).
