Why cant we delete our own posts??

I screwed up yesterday and somehow posted the same thing twice and I was unable to delete the second one. Why cant we delete our own posts?

I don't Know why but,I think sirsteve don't want post being deleted.I think it is a Mod & Adim's thing to do?

I just had to edit a post due to some mispelled words and I saw a thing to delete the post on the top of it. Maybe you can cjeck it out by trying to edit a post.

You can delete your own posts. I do it from time to time in forums that I don't moderate in. To do it, hit the "edit" button like kidhuman suggested. On the edit screen, check the box and hit the "Delete Now" button on the top of the page where it says "Delete Post".

It shouldn't make a difference. I don't have any of my other mod powers in this forum. I could delete my own post though. Same thing goes for the other forums that I don't moderate.

I tried checking the forum rules to see if it was mentioned, but I'm unable to bring up the page. So I'll ask Steve and see what he says.

I believe Steve has it set that way for the same reason he has a time limit on how long you can wait to edit a post - so people don't go saying things and then erasing them and claiming they never said it.
