# of New Posts since your last visit

Presently, when you log onto the boards, it says:

"There have been #X new threads and #Y new posts since your last visit."

In reality, though, it should read "There have been #Y new posts on #X threads since your last visit", because there haven't been #X "new" threads created, just #X threads to which new posts have been added.

So I'm picky - sorry!!!

(PS - and are they "threads" or "topics"? Because when you click on the "read new posts" link, it says "Displaying Topics 1 to X of X")

Not exactly, now it makes the ludicrous claim of:
There have been 352 new threads and 94 new posts since your last visit.which is obviously impossible. What it should read is:
There have been 352 new posts in 94 threads since your last visit.since the 94 threads aren't all new and those 352 new posts are IN those 94 threads.

Just an update, still not "fixed". Now it's backwards AND the wrong terminology. :D

It should read:

There has been 123 new posts in 51 threads since your last visit.

All people are really interested in is how many threads are currently active. The above would tell you that there are currently 51 active threads with approx. 2.5 posts per thread (average).

It dosen't really matter if the threads are "new" or not, just how many have new posts are in them, otherwise you would have to put something like this:

There has been 123 new posts in 51 threads, 2 threads are new, since your last visit.

Or

There have been 2 new threads added since your last visit. There are 123 new posts in 51 threads.

123=Total number of new posts
51=number of active threads
2=Totally new posts that did not exist the last time the person was there.
