I was just wondering if you ever consider advertising your presence out in the real world. I don't even know if it's possible, but if you had some kind of sign up at all the Target stores in the toy aisle, think how many new visitors you'd have.

I don't really remember how I found this place but it had to be by accident. Afterall, if I was a new collector and wanted to look up websites that deal with the toys, I certainly wouldn't be typing "Sirstevesguide" into the search engine.

Just a thought I had on my last hunting trip.

Never thought about it... word of mouth is what we rely on. It's cheap and very effective. ;)

We have thought about doing a booth at shows...

We will start doing to print advertising in the near future to promote a new service we will be debuting.

Didn't this website get some press in Toyfare magazine a couple years back?

Anyway, I suppose I can wait to find out about the new service.

Especially since you're not giving me a choice ;)

You know what would be helpful? Since this is a toy site, we need a kind of middle-man to facilitate trades. There aren't many bad trade experiences listed, but they do come up. So if someone wants to trade or sell, both parties would send their stuff to you. Then you would verify that the money is good or the item is what it says it is, then you would send the stuff on. For a fee, of course, but we could avoid unpleasant situations that way. :)

Every little bit helps, but that won't stop some loser from popping in, stealing what he wants quickly, then vanishing from the site. Sure, it only works once, as long as the ISP remains the same, but somebody still loses.

The only bad thing about a middle man would be extra shipping charges. It is sad that you can hardly trust people anymore. It is hard to tell when you can possibly be ripped off on the trades or sales. If you have one bad experience, it would make you skeptical to actually trade with someone else.
