If you mean a big convention that Hasbro will be at, there is one coming up at the end of the month in San Diego. It's the San Diego Comiccon, and it runs from July 31st - August 4th. Hasbro said that the Arena Playset that didn't arrive on time for the Wizard World Convention in Chicago will be there. They also hinted that there may be some new figures on display then. Likely a few of the last 6 figures that we know of for the year. :)

The biggest show near you might not be until Thanksgiving when Mid-Ohio-Con happens in Columbus. None of the toy companies are usually there, but I'm sure you'll see plenty of toy (along with comic) dealers there.

Yes, I know we did. I didn't say that it was new, I was just saying that it was supposed to be on display at Wizard World just like the Republic Gunship was. And what we saw at Toy Fair was just an early prototype. Just like the Republic Gunship that was shown at Toy Fair, the one that was shown at Wizard World was more detailed. Same will likely be true for the Arena Playset. Plus we haven't seen the backside of the playset yet either, so that is somthing to look forward to. :)

I'm just waiting for Celebration III. I'm not going to bother with any of the other conventions. Anyone heard any other bits of information on this event-- even though 2005 is still a long way off!

Celebration III Store for the Exclusive Figure:
"Get your Jorg Sacul 2, this time with the head on re-used TIE Pilot body parts, only $20 for a bagged one and $30 for the carded one!!! Scalpers get discounts! Limit only 1 per ticket buyer unless you plan on selling them later!! Not even enough in stock for everyone here to get at least 1!"

Hehehehe, JarJar said he wants to look at backsides...... :crazed:

The reverse side of the arena is supposed to be the factory production line setting of the Geonosis droid foundries. Wonder if it'll come with the smelting pots that Padme fell into so I can melt a Padme in one  And the deluxe C-3PO set joins onto the part we saw at Toyfair which presumably joins onto the main playset somehow. Plus the Deluxe flying Geonosian's hive pod will join onto the playset somewhere according to hasbro General spin doctor Andy. But what's with those big doors on the front? hope they change those for the final version. Not that i don't like doors but we didn't see any doors like that in the arena or the foundries. Hope they replace it with a big arch that you can get the beasties through.

I can't wait for the new figures. I know how you all love my unbiased critiques. :p

Actually, I've only ever seen one Padme in person so to speak. On April 23rd I saw just one and left her hanging on the peg. Never seen her since. I think I'll wait and see what the collection 2 version looks like before I decide which one to pursue for the smelting pot. I suspect version two will be better so it may be version one that bites the dust.
Just how does the hive pod attach to the arena plaset? It looks almost as big as the playset itself! :crazed: That's a heck of a lump of plastic they're packing with that deluxe geo warrior. But it has a suction cup on the back so unles that comes off and there's some kind of peg attachment underneath and it attaches to the playset by slotting in somehow.... weird. :(
